Thank you, thank you, thank you. I puzzled over this lock for an hour before I watched your video. Thank you also for titling your video "Sargent Brass Mid Century Door Knob" so I could find it. The hole in the collar is the key piece of misdirection in the design of the knob.
This was exactly what I needed!!!!! Thank you so much after an hour of messing with this thing and watching tons of other videos I found this!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!
Thank you so much for your awesome video it totally helped me and my boss at work change out the bathroom lock we would be so lost without you five star rating
Nice video. Usually on the old Sargents, you gotta rotate the knob on the keyhole side to where you can see that wire through the hole in the body to depress it. It’s probably why you didn’t see it on the other knob. Thanks for sharing🙏🏼✌🏼
After searching CZcams for 3 hours, this is the only video I came across that worked for my doorknob! Thank you!!! I was going crazy.

This worked for my 1989 Fenestra door knob! Thank you!
My lock also had a pin but in different place. Your video gave me an idea and I was able to finish the job. Thank you so much.
Haven't tried it yet, but this seems very similar to a knob we've been trying to replace at the church. Will give it a try later, thanks!

I was about to burn this door down but luckily your video saved it😁
Shoulda watched this two days ago. Thanks for sharing
Thank you! I was losing the battle with this Sargent door handle, and your video helped me win!
OMG! My door knobs are exactly like this one. I had been watching all the videos on how to do it, but was getting angry. Thanks!

Ohh lawt, what if you pull the pin put thinking it will release the knobs 🤦♀️
I pulled the pins on both sides but they were easy to put back on .
