  • In writing this book, I knew a variety of children would be reading it and I wanted it to be as accessible as possible. I've partnered with the Described and Captioned Media Program and Imagination Storybooks to bring this book to life with voice descriptions and ASL captioning. Happy reading!

I’ve been on a journey the last few years with my autism, ADHD, and deafness, and it’s been so hard. I’ve loved watching you and Coop, and I’m grateful that you’ve produced something like this book. I so so wish I’d had it when I was a kid. And thank you for the Sign captioning of the book! I have a feeling imma be watching and rewatching this video as I learn ASL 😆

I know writing books is hard and takes a long time but it would be amazing to see a short book for each kid and call them “(letter) is for (name)” and go into more detail into each child. This could help kids understand more about the disabilities because they are so curious. Of course just this book is way more than perfect! You are so amazing writing a book so an “average” kid can get exposure at a young age.

I was born with Tetralogy of Fallot, which I sum up to being having 4 different things wrong with my heart. It lead to surgery at 6 weeks old and a postoperative stroke.
It took till I was 16 before I under went any procedure. (Happened October 2022)
Because the heart and the stroke and even the epilepsy I was diagnosed with several years ago has never stopped me because I never had to worry about it (before covid) I almost forget I have it, but to see representation of a serious heart condition just made me start crying.
I know how much representation matters, but I always get caught of guard when my health is what is being represented. Especially since it has felt like parts of my own family forget I have it (which I wrote an essay about).
So thank you so much for this book. It's not just little kids who need to see representation and not all "disabilities" are seen. ❤❤❤

I found myself at 30 watching this whole thing and learning so much. I wish I had been read a book like this as a kid and got to learn about everyone’s differences in my classes! Beautifully done. ❤

This book is so powerful and important. Thank you for creating a way to share these things with children in an age appropriate way.
I worked in childcare in the past, and I know this book will have such a big impact on kids lives. We had a little girl get diagnosed with a rare disease when I worked there. It was called metachromatic leukodystrophy (MLD) and it effects the white matter in the brain. She was diagnosed at 3 years old, and the only noticeable symptoms at first was that she couldn’t walk as well as other children, and occasionally would complain of leg pain. Overtime, everything she learned would be “forgotten” as the white matter in her brain deteriorated. Within a year of her diagnosis she was in a wheel chair, had a feeding tube, and she could no longer talk. Everything she learned as a toddler has been lost. This is a terminal disease. It is truly tragic, she was the sweetest little girl when I taught her as a 2 year old. I believe she is 7 or 8 years old now, but I lost contact with her family as she stopped attending the childcare facility that year (her mother quit her job to stay home and care for her) and I left that facility a year or two later. I wouldn’t wish this horrible disease on anyone.

This book is wonderful. I'm a 42 year old living with disability & I wish that something like this book existed when I was at school. Thanks Beth (hi Cooper). 🙂

Hi . I backed your book on kickstarter, but at the time could only afford a small amount. So was not expecting a book. I’m getting what I think is a spam call from UPS saying they were trying to deliver a package, but I have moved. Just wanted to make sure I didn’t make a mistake. Fiona

It's a shame you repeated deafness. The second explanation was much better.
