If an orange frog gets knocked into water (regardless of wether or not he's primed) it will turn back into a healthy blue frog

You didn't know? Having Voltron defeat Olmec is one of the requirements for the "best ending". And that's how you do it :P!
If a flesh eating plant eats a shopkeeper you can pick it up and throw it away while its stunned. When the shopkeeper pops out of it he will not be angry and you can easily rob the shop without a shopkeeper being there to protect it

if you kill the plant with the shopkeeper in it, shopkeeper won't be angry but he will when you rob his shop

I %100 agree.
A few tips from me:
-Throw pots instead of whipping them if you can, in the event that an enemy pops out.
-Alternatively, whipping while falling will cause the whip's hurtbox to be slightly below you, allowing you to whip a pot and then immediately stomp any potential enemies.
-When fighting Olmec, he will not crush you if you stand at where the very edge of his body lands (This has saved me a fair few times).
-Climbing Gloves are great and all, but they're extremely situational, and you can usually accomplish whatever you're trying to do with them by simply using a rope. It's usually best to avoid picking them up, as they will usually end up getting you stuck on tiki traps or other undesirable places.
-On the contrary, always get the Spike Shoes if you can. They are one of the most useful and versatile items in the game, allowing you to kill most mini-bosses (giant spiders, giant frogs, mummies, etc.) in a few stomps, and prevent you from sliding on ice.
-Speaking of giant spiders, the easiest way to kill them is to throw a bomb into their web before they become active. The bomb will not activate them, and will kill them 99% of the time for some easy money and free paste if you don't already have it.
-Unless you desperately need the health (or are trying to get the Casanova achievement), always sacrifice damsels if you can. The rewards from Kali can be much more worth it than the 1 health per damsel you get for rescuing them.
-...Don't die.
exelent tips man the pot whip has saved my butt on more then 1 accasion
1) The giant spider is classified as a boss, not a mini boss
2) It is never a good idea to sacrifice damsels, As There Is A rare chance you get enough.

I knew all of these already, I thought everyone did, which was why I didn't they weren't in the video. But I disagree and agree with the glove, i've mastered using it.
In Jungle levels where you can't see a thing, if your torch is extinguished in water and you can't lift one off of a Tiki Man, it is possible to reignite your torch on a wall torch you have already lit.

I like how you referred to the shopkeeper as a 'monster' at 0:36... seriously, I agree. One tried to kill me for the horrible crime of blowing up the floor at a level boundary that _isn't anywhere near a shop_.

I never thought about holding on to items as an "anti-arrow trap" measure. Dropping objects is what I've done, but has the the advantage of setting off multiple traps that are below you.
why i never thought about whipping the arrow traps ._. i've always just kept something with me to drop in front of them :p

I've discovered that throwing a boomerang when you have a monkey on your back will kill the monkey. It saves the ropes if you're low on them
Whip pots twice so you don't get caught off guard!

Gather the pots together and blow them up. They break twice if they explode, spawning twice as many items.

Here's a tip I guarantee most people don't know:
The Kapala can bring you back to life after you already died, assuming it was almost full. If a drop of blood lands on you at the moment of your death, the kapala will revive you and you can continue the run.
the city of gold can give more that 60k coins if you mine everything

I ended up modding the game to nerf blue frogs. So frustratingly difficult.
Just run away, they aren't that fast.
In a dark level drop a torch at an edge so you know what dangers lie ahead.

If you wanna skip quickly through the ice caves, try to get a compass and a cloak (or jetpack). That usually makes these level very easy, unless it's the yeti area.

Seeing all those Spelunky youtube videos of tactics and people making daily runs to the end, makes me really sad because I can not even get past the ice level, and I barely get there when playing from the beginning. This game is beautiful and good but god damn its frustrating. I will probably never reach to the end.
Just practice, dude. Practice, watch videos, read wikis, Reddit, gamefaqs, etc. Some people have a harder time than other but anyone can get good if they really want to.

you can use the web gun as paste if you shoot a web, then throw a bomb at the web 😀
My best tip that wasn't mentioned is: Purple bats can easily be manipulated into following you and be used as boosts to reach hard to reach places. (Especially useful in the mines) Before considering using a rope, check for a purple bat to use as a substitute!

1 load of vomit is worth 3/4 of the kapala, so one won't be enough if it's empty But it's almost enough, so you'll get 3 health for every 4 loads, which is almost as good.

You can get the alien gun in a random crate it happend to me twice once in mines and on olmac.
This video taught me some great tricks for Spelunky while also providing enough humor to make me want to watch it over and over again. Well done.

Because of this one video, I managed to complete my first hell run.

another tip: if you don't have bomb paste or a shotgun, you can kill the queen bee by making her get stuck in the worm tongue and then throwing a bomb into it
Yeeah... The first time I made it to the jungle, there was a beehive in my path. I had run out of bombs, and had no method of killing the queen, who was blocking the entrance to the beehive.

Edit: Actually, if I was thinking, I may have been able to find random things everywhere and throw them at her until she dies.
Sometimes the nest entrance is too small for her to fit through, so just stand there and whip her.
Thank you for pointing out this on RPS, very well made! I spent dozens of hours on Spelunky but still missed some tricks.

also being on the worm tounge when the damsel is there will take u to a bonus level called worm like this so people can see it

Good video. Even after beating the original, playing HD for about 12 hours so far, and reading the wiki, there were still a few things you mentioned that I didn't know.

If you gather 40 compasses you can make 2 Voltrons and watch them battle it out
Nice video! A few tips to add. If you are sprinting towards tiki traps their spikes come out earlier. The spike boots do increased damage when jumping on enemies like the giant spider. Arrows traps can also be set off by other items like dropping a rock in front of it. As for the idols, I wouldn't recommend ever picking them up in the first world. Doing so could result in destroyed items, angry shopkeeper, and whatever else.

If you head to the black market and need items but don't want to get hurt by shopkeepers, blow up a few blocks left of the ladder over by the entrance, then hug the horizontal wall that meets the ground levels of the shop. This will lead to the shopkeepers falling into the other area below without jumping over to where you are.
You can Whip things slightly above and behind you at the beginning of the whip animation! Surprisingly useful!

If an altar and an idol are close enough, and if you're quick, grabbing the idol and then sacrificing immediately after stops the idol trap from starting.

One I haven't seen mentioned is that you can throw an item into a cobweb to remove it faster (e.g: damsel, stone). Useful when you know you are going to past through it again
The fact that I knew 99% of this through pure trial and error is sad to me
If you want to shoot a shopkeeper but there's a corpse in the way, remember that boomerangs can go right through corpses. This is especially useful when the black market is full of angry shopkeepers shooting randomly and corpses are starting to pile up, also getting a boomerang is usually quite easy in the black market because of all the tiki men walking around. Rocks can go through corpses too, btw.

If you have a jet pack and your friend has a shotgun or the alien gun pick him up and let him shoot there won't be any recoil

if you're about to go down a drop and are speedrunning you can whip on a ledge while you're falling and you won't grab the ledge which can save time
the mothership entrance usually has 2 crates in it, making it so you can get a few extra items
you can whip small enemies dropping on you
you can hold blue frogs by grabbing an orange frog and jumping in water

You can whip a powder box and survive, but your positioning has to be (almost) pixel perfect.

You can set a mine next to a shopkeeper to kill it, he'll just sit there as the mine goes off and you'll be able to rob the shop.

One time I was setting down one of those golden idols, and I somehow triggered the "let me take that off your hands" exchange. There wasn't a shop there, but there was one of those shopkeepers in the walls a small distance away. It was weird.
The vaults are considered "shop blocks" for the game, so I guess that's what happened
2:35 spike shoes also let you do extra damage when stomping and you can stomp enemies that you normally couldn’t stomp on
The tiki trap only has two spikes in it. This means that the top or bottom cannot stab both sides at the same time. You can use this to your advantage by baiting one side of the tiki trap and safely passing through the other side while the spikes are still retracting.
You can enter the options screen and button mash the skin that edits the damsel skin to unlock a sloth skin for the damsels

Ropes can also get rid off sucubbus on your back
you can whip in the opposite direction of a 2 blocks hole and run over it (while whiping)
You can still get the blue head thing in the ice caves after going through the worm if you go through the alien mothership

You can avoid the boulder trap by quickly cashing in the idol before the boulder drops.
