  • This is the story of the predatory nature of multinational companies and how neoliberal pro-corporate policies of Pak bureaucracy resulted in the country losing the fifth largest copper (and gold) mine in the world.

So, whats about revival of deal? Did Pak revive the deal to avoid the $6bn award only? If it is only to avoid the penalty then what the shame we earned after 30 years of efforts. Also, we never listent about the criminal proceedings against and severe punishments for those who remained deeply engaged in all these contract procedures. I think instead of reviving of deal, penalty must have been paid by these criminals and those we were supporting them from behind the curtains. The question is how can the boys who were keenly interested for CPEC ownership and who after ousting a sitting PM through judicial coup immediately formed CPEC authority could remain oblivious of all these contract processes. They must had pushed the caretakers for their vested interests; otherwise, the later never had any authority to sign such contracts. The criminals must be punished.

Establishment in this country is real power here. They manipulate from behind and some times from the front. Democracy in our country is just a cover, We are still ruled by east India company ...

Superb summary with documented facts presented by a very capable and knowledgeable narrator and analyst. Pakistan is considered to be a very educated country with a sizable number of world-class intellects in all disciplines. If such Agreements were negotiated in some backward country in Africa or even in Asia, one could forgive their leaders. But a country like Pakistan has committed such blunder that is evident that the entire fiasco is based on corruption and nothing else. Shame on all those who are now sitting in some comfortable home watching Pakistan being pushed down the toilet a bit more every day by the genocidal colonists with the same old dirty tricks.

I know for sure as I invest in mining companies, extract gold is not like digging a hole in ground and extract gold bars. It require very special process a 75% stake for BHP was fare deal. But obviously monopoly of not allowing other explorers to work in area is because of corrupt politicians of Pakistan not BHP.
We Pakistani are the people who live in dreams and every one is expertise in every thing people like Chief justice Iftekhar Chaudry should be answerable to their blunders.

The project hit snags due judicial activism. If all what you are saying is true, why international arbitration court for settlement of dispute slapped a fine of USD 6 billion on Pakistan. Tetheyan mining company invested millions to discover/explore the valuables metals. Once the gold was discovered the Baluchistan govt changed its mind. You can’t play double cross with international investors. There are no direct charges of corruption against TMC by any quarter in Pakistan.
People of Pakistan will benefit once mining activity resumes in Reko Dik. Either do it yourself or let the international investor do it. Don’t follow the policy of نا کھڈو نہ کھڈن دیو
Like Riko Dik we have lost many international arbitrations. Investors view us as untrustworthy. Let government of Pakistan take decisions; don’t let judiciary run the affairs of government.
