Shortening Hydraulic Disc Brake Hose Without Specific Tools

  • Today I’m going to install the Magura MT4 on my Cannondale Trigger 29er. The length of the hose is 2200mm and I need to shorten it in order to fit.
    Parts:
    Magura MT4 MTB disc brake kit
    Rubber boot
    Fixing nut (connecting bolt)
    Olive
    Connector insert
    Hose
    Temporary plug
    Tools
    Cutting plier
    8mm wrench
    Mini hammer
    Clamp

    Yeah, guess im gonna try this first. Bikeshop ask 180€ for the bleeding and 27€ vor shortening the brake cable. The dedicated tools are 372€+ shipping. Guess im gonna buy myself an cigar cutter. The hammer i got

    Is it possible to lengthen the tube by putting a new longer tube.. are lengthy tubes sold for what I need

      Yes, you just need to find the right hose and swap the olive connector to the new hose.
