In high school I never did homework and always getting in trouble for it and beating myself up over it. I remember one time spending two hours trying to force myself to do a 1 hour assignment by denying any other activity and just gave up at 10pm after not being able to start. I knew what to do... just would not do it. I'm now 53 and trying to get diagnosed.
I’m about to get diagnosed and about to become financially independent, any advice? Especially on finances. I’ve always been an impulsive spender and I think this is going to affect me alot negatively when I’m financially independent. I won’t be surprised if I’m still living with my parents at 30 really, that’s how bad it is. Also any advice on relationships too, I also struggle with that. Making friends and keeping those relationships is just about the hardest thing there is. I don’t even try anymore, I want to but I really just can’t anymore because I know how it’s gonna end. I get bored of them, I become irritable, they get annoyed, they ghost me, the end. Happens a lot

My Son and Daughter in their 40s have been diagnose inattentive adhd. I have the symptoms too but am 70. When I spoke to my doctor he would not believe me. He asked no questions and said I couldn’t have it!
Don't give up, keep fighting for your diagnosis if you really believe you have the struggles of inattentive ADHD. You might not be "severe" enough for some docs to take your seriously, but push for your diagnosis and don't take no for an answer until you've received a better response than "just because". 😇

The current research says only about 10% of children with ADHD no longer have it as adults.
@@zainmushtaq4347 I went to my own doctor and took my “evidence” in writing. He didn’t look at the writing. He told me that many people have symptoms but are not ADHD. I had to bring out the NICE guidelines (UK) which says every age should have a diagnosis so he reluctantly said he would send me a questionnaire. He also text me a phone number which I thought was to do with ADHD but when I phoned it there was an organisation on the end which helped lonely people get help!! I did the questionnaire and now I am waiting for a proper assessment so I’ve got past the first hurdle.
@@zainmushtaq4347I was just watching this video and I’m so glad you posted this comment. I’m in my late 30s and struggling to get my diagnosis. Part of me feels like giving up but then I keep thinking that I can’t continue to struggle like this. What did you do to get the diagnosis? No doctor believes me when I tell them what I’m dealing with. Trying to get diagnosed now…

I just can't wrap my brain around how people can feel so negative about their child having ADHD. Maybe it's because my son having ADHD was not a surprise but more of an expectation sense my husband also has ADHD
How old is your son? Maybe you haven't encountered some of the difficulties yet and then again the severity and number of symptoms can vary with the person. Also, early diagnosis can be critical.
Alcoholics and benzodiazepin-abusers should never be alowed to have children. The world would certainly be a better place if parents weren't drinking. No psychopathy, less violence etc.
Ugh.
