- Installing a VEVOR 2000-Watt 48V MY1020 Brushless Motor and Controller Kit on my Razor Ground Force go kart and over-volting it with a 60-Volt set up (DeWalt 20V Max batteries wired in a Series.) This is the MOST amount of motor / controller / battery I could physically fit on the back of one of these Razor Go Karts. Stay tuned for more upgrades!

Hell yeah kabagis, lookin good! See you got some new tools as well 😎
Trying to level up!
@@PatOutdoors only way is up! 💪🏾
So sick. I've been trying to scoop up a Ground Force roller on the cheap to build up. I have a 1500W kit that I have laying around from an old MX350 project that I would love to put to use.
Awesome!
Volt meter wires are backwards. I have a ytshort on it. They sometimes wire the leads backwards.
Right, simple fix for the voltage meter. But the throttle itself failed after working a few min
Thats awesome i did similar to a ground force it's really fun. Even bought rubber tires for the rear for smoother speed runs
Nice! Where did you get wheels with rubber tires? I’m having a hard time finding front wheels for more turn-I’m grip
They dont work too bad just pop out bearings and they match they keyway
Also just in case I believe the razor dune buggy wheels fit as well but air filled
@@rizole31 I actually ordered a pair of front ones last week but they’re 10mm bearings instead of 8mm. I may just try to find a set of bearings to make it work
If you pop the bearings out of those they may work for rears for a bit smoother speed fun.
I really enjoyed the part where you wrapped the chain around the shaft
I really enjoyed the part where I owe you a drill bit set now because I refuse to return this set because it’s good luck
@@PatOutdoors consider it a gift - as long as I get more shaft play
I will do some private shaft play videos just for you 😂
Tommorow I am upgrading mine to 36v
That motor is going to be put to work with the small axle sprocket and 15t motor sprocket. I did this on my ground force drifter and even with a 40lb kid on it the vevor smoked. Also, when you charge, you'll need a 54V charger, not 60V. Those DeWalt batteries are only 20v MAX but they're really just 18V packs. So 18x3 = 54. Don't use a 60v charger that pushes to 67V, you're going to have a bad day.
I wasn’t planning on charging it with a 60v charger.. I have 4 separate chargers for these type of batteries. Appreciate your input
nice!
That's an amazing video. Will the motor and controller not burn out even under overvoltage?
It’s only about a 20% overvolt and the batteries don’t put out enough amps to cause damage this motor. I’ve ran 72 volts @50 amps on these motors on my Razor MX650 and it’s still going strong for almost 2 years now
@@PatOutdoors Thank you for the great information
This is rad! I am trying to buy replacement wheels but need the barcode ID to buy from Razor. Anyone have a barcode ID I can use from a drifter or Fury?
What the link or name of the yellow wire connector panel your using? Aswell as what Chain did you buy?
Junction Block (yellow): amzn.to/3KgdYui
PGN Heavy duty 25H Chain: amzn.to/4bTjtuH
did this same exact build with a 15 tooth sprocket on the motor and a 52v battery got 40mph
I just went out and it’s way too dangerous 😂 Did you have real tires on yours? I need a wheel/tire upgrade suggestion
@@PatOutdoors Nah i havent put real tires on it yet, seems complicated as hell to put the rubber ones as the keys dont match up, if you wrap the wheels with some tape itll drift pretty nicely or a pvc pipe
Did you buy the 15 tooth sprocket separately? The chain from your links doesn’t fit the sprockets they gave me with the motor.
Yes, the link for the sprocket I used is in the description also. 25h chain fits all razor bikes and karts
Cant seem to find the link for the sprocket.

Can I use original wires to connect everything or do I need to get some new ones?
For which part?

Or should I just get a new charger and wires. And if so which ones?
Can you give us the link of the sprocket? I can’t find the exact dimensions…

Keep in mind this is ONLY for the MY1020 motor, does not fit the factory motor.
Hey broski. Just a word of advice. Put a small nut and bokt through the phase wires with a heat shrink then put the negative and positive in the bus bar/terminal block. This takes the melting/shorting risk out of the equation since these newer vevor motors no longer come with internal fans.
Unfortunately no space for a heat sink on this one due to how close the seat is
@@PatOutdoors no no. Heat shrink on the bolts of the phase wires so they dont melt the vevor bus bar with the battery terminals. Keep it separate.
@@MooseRidez ohh I got you. Well this is just a testing phase, I haven’t even cleaned up or tucked any of the wiring yet till I replace my throttle. I’ll keep that in mind when I’m wrapping things up
@@PatOutdoors yeah no doubt brother. I knew due to the size heat management gunna be a pain so keep the phase wires seperate from the battery wires will help keep sketchy things from happening
footpedal
Does it have to be the drill batteries or can it be a lithium scooter battery
It can be either- I just happen to have a lot of these. Also keep in mind super limited space available on these karts
