    When I'm feeling guilty over eating a particular food I break it down in my mind into its most simple components and that helps me not to catastrophize. Like I was feeling guilty about eating macaroni and cheese and then I thought, 'it's literally wheat, milk fat and salt, not the end of the world.' I was feeling guilty over eating ranch flavored tortilla chips and then I realized: it's corn, oil, salt and spices. Those are all ingredients that a 'health' influencer might put in one of their supposedly healthy recipes. We don't have to demonize normal common food products

    I’m so glad that I made the decision almost one year ago to start recovery from anorexia. These questions that you mentioned here are exactly what I could not stop thinking last year. Looking back, I can’t believe how far I have come. Thank you so much for your help. I know I still have quite a way to go in terms of recovery, but to y’all out there with similar struggles: recovery is so hard but so worthwhile. Life is so much more fulfilling beyond the eating disorder.

      It's been about 8 months for me! I'm at a bit of a low point right now (I'm just a little underweight), and I have to gain a few pounds to be healthy. It's a hurdle, but I know it will be worth it in the long run!

    i used to struggle with bulimia, and after being diagnosed with very early onset arthritis it's been recommended to me to lose weight to take some pressure off my sore joints- your channel is the only one that makes me feel like it's possible to do so safely in a way that feels good

    I cant wait to see your cruise video. Im go9ng in May and i find that the unlimited options get overwhelming but also the stress to finish my food because we paid for it goes away on the cruise because if it doesnt taste great or satisfy i can always pick something else

    you have helped my relationship with food so much! my mom and i love those protein bars! another one of our favorites are the "Built protein puff bars"! it's like a marshmallow mixed with a protein bar! my favorite flavor is cookie dough. second favorite is brownie batter. the cookie dough one actually has cookie dough pieces on it! 😋thank you so much for helping so many people. definitely recommend the delicious protein bars! ❤❤

    I started intuitve eating a while back, and just for the heck of it I counted calories after my last meal the other day. I was amazed by how well my body knows what it needs. I ate a perfectly normal amount, counting all the snacks I ate as well. This stuff actually works. I gained a couple of pounds at the beginning, but after that, my weight has stayed the same.

    I knew your videos had been planting seeds when after I came back to the states (home) from overseas for 6 months and bought my favorite gf Oreos (Glutino -not available overseas and since I have celiac, these were something I was missing) ...and didn't eat the whole bag in one go.

    Hi Collen! I love your shorsts and have found your content very helpful :) Please can you explain more about what you mean by having a "plan" for inituitive eating? I worry that a "plan" could lead to restiction. What is the difference?

      Hey! Super fab question 💕 a plan just means a way to learn! Not a plan of what to eat. Eating intuitively is like learning a new language. Sure you can go immerse yourself in the new culture and figure it out but having a guide help and teach you can be less stressful 💕 that’s exactly what I’m here for and what my app does- ensures you have the right steps to follow to learn n!

    I don’t feel good about my body at my present weight, but I’m post menopausal and am wondering if intuitive eating and getting my body to release extra weight is much more difficult because of that.

    Ahh! I installed your app a little while back but didn't complete sign in as I came to a paywall. Thanks to this video, I realized you had amazing free stuff and went back to finish signing in. Signing up as a new user didn’t work as it said my email address had already been taken, but when I went to sign in (as an established user) and clicked 'I forgot my password,' it said my email address was invalid. 😢

    Hey Colleen I went through Ed recovery and went through a phase of extreme hunger,
    but after my extreme hunger I suddenly have no appetite for anything I worry I’m not getting In nutrients that I need because of not wanting to eat right now
    so should I just force myself to eat more because it’s good for me? or “listen to my body” and don’t because I don’t want to

      Do you have no appetite because you’re eating healthy foods? If your a healthy weight then I wouldn’t worry about not being hungry. Just because something is good for you doesn’t mean you should eat. Eat healthy food when you’re hungry. Now if you’re severely underweight and not hungry well then you should eat some healthy food.

      @@dontfit6380 that is true, I was scared about losing my hair again bc I lost half of my hair when I was in my Ed because I wasn’t getting in things I needed but I understand wym I’m eating healthy and some unhealthy food here n there

      @@RileyDebernarde you look healthy. I’m sure you’ve got this. Just make sure your eating more healthy food then unhealthy and your body will get everything it needs. I’m glad you recognize there is a difference between healthy and unhealthy foods many on here don’t.

    Question: I know you have the belief that what you eat does not have morals attached to them but, I'm wondering on how you can eat what your body tells you when there are morals attached? To explain, I am vegetarian. So, my morals do not allow me to eat meat. How can I heal my relationship with food and keep to my moral standards?

    I think your dog is great example of what happens when you eat without rules or implement a plan that helps you with 'impuls control'. Beagles, in general, will just eat about everything if you are not careful.. they will even go through your garbage to get it or steal it from you.. so you will need to add rules or train them to not let them eat everything.. but not overly restict them..

    My CGM has trained my brain to stay away from highly processed, high carb foods. My A1C is perfect now!

      ​Intuitive eating is for people that binge eat. It's the only thing that stopped me from stuffing my face with food from emotional eating. There is nothing wrong with high carb foods in moderation. ​@@dontfit6380

      You have never owned a beagle! You have to restrict them.. They are not intuitive eaters.. They will eat everything that is basically a food, doesn't matter if they are not allowed to or not. They dig through garbage to get it, grab it from you hands (why eating on the floor is a no go) and will always go after something that smells good. You can train them but it is not easy.. they most likely train you.
