Was you able to still use your oem ECU or did you have to purchase a ECU from the donor that the tps and iac harness was from? Any little answers like that would be highly appreciated 👍🏻

I'm still building the truck but my plan is to use the v6 pcm because it has the stepper motor inside that the tuner needs to make the dbc work. The blue red pcms are also able to run this setup I believe

Goto lt1swap.com and there's a whole section about this wiring and it tells what all pcms are compatible as well

Thank you sir 👍🏻 kinda give you a small rundown on what I’m wanting to do “budget friendly”
Just pulled a 5.3 with pedal, fuse box, ECU, complete, only issue it’s out of a 4x4
Wanting to swap to a 89 2nd but from what I understand we only use half the fuse box, which I was wanting to possibly re-work the harness to a smaller fuse block I can put behind the dash some where’s
Running a adapter plate for a 700r that’s in my truck now
So I want to dumb the harness down to minimal wires to a smaller fuse box, non electronic trans, and convert it to dbc

@@codyhartley1537 I've simplified my own harnesses using the lt1swap.com several times and there's a good bit of Amazon fuseblocks that's decent quality for not a bad price these days. I put one in the 94 s10 that I 6.0 swapped last year

@@WrecklessGarage sorry I guess I forgot to add my brain debate. Didn’t know if it would be worth the hassle of adding the wiring needed to run a dbc and finding another ecu.
Or finding a 99-02 harness, or the $150-250 stand alone harness, throttle body, and ECU, I’m still pretty new to the ls wiring thing, but just trying simple or dumb it down like you see in the stand alone harness. Small fuse block, few wires needed to power everything, just something simple and looks clean instead of the big bulky fuse box under the hood. Normally I wouldn’t care about the cleanliness of the engine bay but it was my grand fathers truck to begin with, then my fathers which both are deceased so it holds a lot of value to want to do something great with it.
It doesn’t hurt my feeling not having the 4l60e trans, just had bad experience with them over the years(still old school on some things) no ac considering it was a base model truck.
Thanks a lot for all the comments and quick responses. Pretty good advice my man 👍🏻 10 times better than calling a 1-800 number and talking to robot

What gas pedal assembly did you use?

    • @WrecklessGarage

My stock 4.3 gas pedal works I'm sure it's the same as a 99-02 v8 pedal as well

The whole truck is done with an lines now but there's nothing wrong with compression fittings they've been around longer than me. Send me a check if you want to tell me how to do things 🙂
