First time out and I would say that's pretty good. Things Gabby did well: good frame, nice working trot, nice upward transitions, staying by self (circling, etc), reverse. I was surprised they asked for lengthen stride in an EQ class as that is normally a hack thing. Need to work on: wrist/hands (you know this), downward transitions need to be more smooth, sitting trot and arch back to help, @10m mark didn't really seem to lengthen, canter needs to be sitting (even with lengthen and Gabby did this half the time which is good), quiet elbows, Gabby was looking down a lot (look ahead and forward). Overall really great class. Chino was going really well, nice working trot (make sure to keep tracking up), Gabby seemed calm and was very relaxed. FYI - for your braids, try not to have the knuckle (the bump bit) be higher than the crest. Hunter braids do take time but once you figure out what you need to be looking for and tips you will get it. Also helps to tie when you pull them through and make them sort of flat before you do the knuckle.

in the us, it’s very normal for in eq challenges for them to ask for lengthen of stride, it helps test the riders and see how well they keep their equation with a faster paste.
@@DayByDayVlogs it may also help to lengthen her stirrups she seems to have and over bend in the knee and pinch at the knee

If you get in the ribbons at any rated show, you're doing pretty good! Some of those girls have spent LOTS of money on their Eq/hunter horses

Gabby did great at the show, she had a fun time and kept her composure throughout the classes! I completely believe that when you are winning all the time at shows you are not being challenged enough and need to move up so this is amazing for Gabby to be at these rates shows going against riders that are at her same level and really give a challenge for her!
That looked nice and soft and you rode well. My trainer always reminds me to ride forward into my downwards transitions so that they are soft and not too abrupt. Maybe next time a slightly clearer definition between collection and extension might gain more marks. Well done on your 5th place 😊
Beautiful to watch. Way to go Gabby and Chino!! 5th place is not bad considering this is their first big show! So proud of the job done!! Laura you feel nervous and jittery because you are an empath and you are picking up all of the emotions that are going on around you from all the other competitors...very nervous energy during the shows that is why you have a hard time. I felt the same way just watching this and I could tell Gabby did not seem to have the same nervous energy which is good. She was living her best life out there and looking good while doing it. Well done Gabby! So much more to it than how nice your horse looks and how good a rider you are ( not saying they’re not important lol), but the ring craft, keeping relaxed etc, all things I think Gabby should be very proud of, given it was her first rated show 👏👏👏

Gabby did amazing! She was splendid and so was Chino, she had really nice upward transitions and frame, it was also really easy to spot the extension in trot when asked which is always awesome so she should be extremely proud of herself

I was dying to watch that big dark bay/black with the pelham standing in front of Gabby go! What a nice lookin horse! but FANTASTIC rides Gabby!! Chino looks fabulous as well!
Gabby I have been in a lot of rated shows, next time do equitation I saw that u did not ( that is ok some times I do that too ), also try to get Chino or Storm to head set. You did amaze! One more thing do not hand gallop unless they say to I know u thought they said that or just didn’t understand. Hope these tips help!

Why does she wear spurs at the show but not at home? To me Chino looks like he’s being chased in the show ring with the spurs because she doesn’t wear them at home.

That was a fairly big class, Massive well done gabby for riding so beautifully, Chino was held together very well and your transitions where stunning. But also a massive well done for not taking it too seriously and allowing yourself to really experience the show and have Fun, I've seen you get caught up on your mistakes and what you can do better so it was lovely to see the care free gabby shining through. Also you really do have a stunning smile, it was a pleasure to watch this ride and I cant wait to see your next one. xx

Well, Gabby has already passed as far as I've been. I never got to ride nearly as much and I never had my own horse, so she's in a good position to get somewhere with this. Good job 🎉

So fun! In 4 H everyone gets a ribbon 1st 2nd or 3rd then they tell you if you have a 1st return then tose go back and show for champion and reserve its so cool to be called back! Great job gabby and that smile!!!! Wow

For gabby, winning isn’t everything. Even if it’s just 5th, that was out of 19 people. That is very impressive. Also for your sitting trot try and sit more forward on ur pelvis. You seem to be leaning very far back i think that could’ve helped ur placing a little bit. Besides that beautiful equitation!

She is such a beautiful rider but all she needs to do is straighten her wrists and and bend her elbows. Then she would be even more awesome then she allready is. I would also love to see gabby go in a higher rated EQ. Show. They switch horses randomly and the rider gets 20-30 minutes to figure out the horse then the do the flat classes and jumping classes.

I do western and English and for my first western show for 4-h there was 24 and I got champion since my horses are been there done that type of teachers unless it's my young horse
