Im trying to do the same, did you buy the dash, or repair, and did the pillar trim use tabs or screws? Love the video btw and if you could show the whole process I f repair your truck it would be helpful, but i can understand your recoding device running out of battery
I got the dash online! Here's the link! www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/nissan,1986,d21+pickup,2.4l+l4,1210835,interior,dash+board+cover,1284 There were no tabs or screws! The kit was just the dash cover and silicone! The dash cover literally slaps over the original dash! I will make a quick vid explaining the details and process I used, tho!
Hey man great video. I’m embarrassed to ask but it’s not immediately clear from the video: the dash cover is black? Any reason you did not go for the original blue? Thanks!
Yeah! The cover is black! I just wanted Too change the color scheme a bit! I've since gotten a round dash from a 90's d21 that I'm planning on installing onto this d21!
@@almagam2099 cool man thanks for the reply. What was the quality of the dash cover like? It seems like it fit ok, but I want to make sure it’s worthy to get it all the way down here. In my opinion the old square dash is worth keeping, it’s just so 80-90s cool. Cheers from Chile!
@@hanshanel1365 the material is a hard plastic type! A bit stiffer than the stock dash! It's an easy fix to hiding an old, cracked dash like mine! Lol I like the old style dashboards too! But at the same time, I also want too modernize my d21! She is originally a base model! No AC, no power steering! No power windows! No power anything! So I've been installing and upgrading what I can when I have the time! It's nice too meet you! It's great too meet others from other countries with the same model truck!!!
It's holding up pretty good. I did have too reapply more of the glue on the entire area nearest the vents and windshield tho. That section has several angles and curves underneath. I had too make sure I used plenty of the folded cardboard cutouts and wedge them between the dash and windshield. The more pressure that you can add too that area the better the glue will bond it to the dash. The rest of the dash was easy as it's a really snug fit.

How did it hold up afterwards? I'm about to do the same on my 1991 Nissan D21
