Raw power? As opposed to what, cooked power? It’s just power, and if you think that looks terrifying then you aren’t really into your cars or power are you?
Edit: You do realise as well that the shaking the camera shows isn’t representative of what the driver experiences, right? A camera is very different to a human head with eyes.

@@adamwake1915 Comparatively speaking, Steve was a lot more dialled in once his tyres warmed and was clearly the fastest out there. He wasn’t missing any apexes man. That’s an MP4/1 at Brands Hatch and it was obvious that the car was a handful at that track until he finally got the temperatures up into the operating window. When up to speed, he nailed all of the apexes (bar the final right hander leading onto the start/finish straight) as he preferred the wide line entry to help carry his speed down the stretch. The only times he wasn’t on the optimal racing line was when duelling with other cars and becoming unsighted, or whilst the cars are all entering the same corner together.

You can see him counter-steer lots of times in corners, he is driving the thing flat out. The perceived velocity is deceiving, they are going hella fast. The McLaren MP4/1 (initially known as the MP4) was a Formula One racing car produced by the McLaren team. It was used during the 1981, 1982 and 1983 seasons. It was the first Formula One car to use a monocoque chassis wholly manufactured from carbon fibre composite, a concept which is now ubiquitous.
The chassis was designed by John Barnard, Steve Nichols and Alan Jenkins, with the car being powered by a Cosworth DFY engine.
The MP4 was the first car to be built following the merger of the McLaren team and Ron Dennis' Project 4 Formula 2 team; its designation was short for "Marlboro Project 4".
