Well it depends on what vegeta wants to make it like doesn't it? For example even the kamehameha is not a beam sometimes(rarely). Water kamehameha goku used against frieza was a ball. One kamehameha against beerus was a ball. And also cell's giant kamehameha vs gohan looked like a ball

Why do you say that? Watch the first clip, the first big bang attack was a single energy ball. It's rare that it is a beam
Most of these "big bang attacks" are just normal ki beams with one hand, except that vegito one was a beam
It's kinda amazing how consistently inconsistent DB is with everything, from image and animation quality to how signature attacks should look or behave.
I think different artists work on different episodes which is why the animation is inconsistent
It's mostly because Toriyama is loose with it himself and doesn't care to stress the details. You would never see Oda allowing One Piece to be screwed up because he actually cares about his work.
Yeah you had multiple animation studios rushing these episodes out weekly. Some studios had good talent, some didn’t. But they were also being rushed.

The ball thingies Gogeta threw, sometimes known as “God Punisher” because of Xenoverse and FighterZ, is basically the same. Balls of energy making huge explosions on contact.

I'm pretty sure the Big Bang Attack was never a beam-based move; it's more like shooting a super-explosive energy grenade, most advantageously (though not always) used against an enemy who is fleeing in blind fear. A one-handed palm-fire does not always equal Big Bang Attack.

Technically all ki attacks are just orbs of energy of various sizes. The beam is really just a trail of energy following behind after being executed. The stronger the attack the more noticeable energy trail left behind is. Or if that argument isnt good enough then, ki based attacks can have alternate forms Like when Goku fought freiza and was hiding under water he used the "Kamehameha Wave" but instead of a beam he manifested two orbs of energy and unleashed them like torpedoes upwards to distract Freiza then drove his boots into his face. If we look at it this way it makes sense, Goku really only has one Ki based attack in his arsenal and it's the "Kamehameha Wave" (I'm not counting the "Genkai Dama" becuase in order to use it he has to barrow energy from others and not manifesting it from within) where as Vegeta develops several ki based attack throughout the series, "Galick Gun", "Big Bang Attack", "Final Crash", "Atomic Blast", "Final Flash", "Gamma Brust" (it was used in the manga during Tournament of Power ) it also would seem that Vegeta likes to alter the attacks so he can utilize it more effectively
I.e the "Big Bang Attack" from a exploding blast to a exploding beam, and gathering ki into both hands before unleashing the "Final Crash" (the attack he used aginst Recoom) instead he changed it to gather in a central point which took longer but the effect was a more powerful thus it became the "Final Flash".
4:25 in the original japanese dub Vegeta calls it a big bang attack, so I'm not sure about that

You know, I kinda agree with Moro about Big Bang Attack: it's just a simple Ki Blast, at least when compared to sophisticated techniques like Kienzan, Shin Kikoho, Makan Kosappo, Sokidan, or Scatter Kamehameha and Mafuuba. A good reason why it only worked against the fat Android which came together with Dr. Gero and no one else after that when Vegeta used it.
Vegito is another matter though.... Although his Big Bang Attack on Buuhan didn't do anything either.
It's the worst of Vegeta's signature moves. At least the Final Flash ,Galick gun, Gamma Burst Flash hit above he's weight class

I always associated the Big Bang Attack with a single, large, light-blue orb being fired at high speed toward an opponent. Like at 6:46 for instance. I never realized it could also be a beam-like attack, like at 3:35, meaning the one at 4:24 is probably a Big Bang Attack as well, even though I never considered it one.
I could be wrong, but most of the beam examples arent actually BBAs in Japanese, because since Vegeta actually yells out the attack in Z’s Sub, so the only examples of a Big Bang Attack beam would be Vegito’s and Vegeta’s one against Buu (same timestamps you used), because they do call it the Big Bang Attack

Great video package! There were some Big Bang Atks missing:
1. Semi-Perfect Cell's Big Bang Atk against Android 16 (caused 16 to have half of his head missing)
2. SS Vegeta's Big Bang Atk against Super Perfect Cell during the Gohan/Cell Kamehameha beam struggle (debatable if it was).
3. SS Vegeta's Big Bang Atk to MSS Broly before he transformed to LSS.

That second iffy BBA seemed pretty solid. Explosion on impact, orb was the right shape and color, only thing off was the fingers weren’t quite perfect.
