    Hello!!! Love looking at my home country through someone else's lens! AND YES super love that you go to the less "touristy" areas! Very few people show food courts!! :D Hope you have plenty more yummy food! *EDIT* The curry that comes with the prata is usually fish curry so might not be suitable for strict vegetarians. Some Indian stalls will have vegetable curry for vegetarians. :)

    I totally love this video & agree with all that you have said. Most tourists are concentrated at the central tourist parts of SG & complaining how expensive SG is.
    I mean what do you expect when you go to the famous tourist spots? 😅
    However, that is not all SG is about. There are good cheap local food all over SG, that does not need to put a hole in anyone's pocket. 😉
    Watched your recent trips to SG as well, the overnight stay few months ago & the recent overlay.
    Really really love your videos, & now I know why you love SG so much!
    Hope that other travel youtubers watch your videos about SG too, so that they know how to better explore SG more affordably. 😉

    Usually prata is served with fish curry as the slightly sour taste goes better with the savoury prata.
    But here's where it gets controversial. Some ppl, including me, eat our prata with curry AND sugar. You dip the prata in the curry and then into a bit of sugar you've poured onto the side of the plate. It's sacrilege to some but it's yummy to me. Haha
    You seem to enjoy a bit pf sweetness. You should try the prata-curry-sugar combi. Could be a game changer for u. ;)

Ordinary char Kuay teow will not taste fantastic.

    What's the name of the main song in your video, 🌞 where the lyrics say sunshine on my face?
    I really love this song and have been looking everywhere on the internet to find it, to no avail 😢 😭
    If you could please reply bacm with the name and artist of this song, I'd really appreciate it🙏
    BTW, loving your solo travel journey. I started watching your videos a few days ago (binge watching all of them) and as a fellow Australian, I can definitely identify with some of your feelings regarding solo travelling and taking photos. I had so many strange looks from people when I took selfies on a solo trip to Adelaide, and it only got worse when I started talking to the locals 😆 nearly 90% of the people in Adelaide looked at me strangely when I politely asked them for directions, told them about my desire to explore the city, or even told them of my future travelling plans and desire to move up north. At first I thought, maybe it's me, but when I was looked at the same way by heaps of different people, I started to realise that maybe THEY had the problem.
    The woman with the husband in Bali who looked at you and judged you whilst you were taking a photo, that's on HER. It's nice that you were so polite about it, as I definitely wouldn't have been 😆 I would have just asked why she was looking at me weirdly, or said yes, yes I am travelling by myself, and it's been such a nice experience for me 😄😄 Personally, I think people who judge others (without a valid reason I.e. not following cultural customs or something particular like that) are just nosy and jealous. She was probably sooo jealous of you for having the courage to do something like Travel by yourself and take a photo, as she could be in a controlling relationship, or with a whiney husband who doesn't respect her or let her do anything she wants. So good on you, girl, for embarking on solo travelling. It's amazing seeing the happiness and the changes in your growth through this channel, as I will be doing a similiar solo trip next year and I also have anxiety issues. Seeing you do this and tackling it with grace has made me also feel that I can do this and survive, so thank you 😄😄🙏🙏

      Great question!! My mum and I both get really sick from MSG (as in, we gotta throw the food back up, migraines, exhaustion etc). I’d probably tell you to steer clear of noodle dishes as I’ve had trouble in the past (I completely forgot about that while stuffing those noodles in my face) but you would be fine with the Indian food and things like grilled seafood, chicken rice, BBQ chicken wings, satay, roti, popiah and many other local dishes! Noodles aside, if you see me eating it, you should be okay 😍🙏🏼

I watched your video from 5 years ago about the equipment you guys use, but was wondering if you've updated your kit since then. Any helpful tips and gear you use would be great and what camera set up you use? (I know you loved the new nikon you and Matt got recently) Thanks, once again, love your content, can't wait to put what I've learned from you to the test.

    • @travelforphoebe
      @travelforphoebe  Před rokem

      Oh, amazing! You’re going to have the best time 😊 I’ll share what I’ve been using to do it solo: the Nikon Z 30 with a rode video micro and joby tripod (perfect for vlogging) and my iPhone. I have a GoPro I’ll use for water based stuff but that’s it! The small kit is great. Keeps it simple, easier for backing up files, lighter to carry when travelling etc. Any other questions let me know 🙌🏻

    • @travelforphoebe
      @travelforphoebe  Před rokem +1

      hahaha no I get it - when I started I ran out and bought all these big, expensive cameras and they were hell to carry around. Going lighter, smaller and having as few cameras as possible is the way to go. If you can find a phone that films well and can go underwater, get that instead. GoPro is pretty unreliable and you can't see what you're filming! You'll also just need a laptop and hard-drives to store/back-up your footage :)
