Hi Phoebe, I've got so much to say here, I really don't know where to start. That was terrifying. I am SO glad that your trip didn't take a darker turn though. What you did endure is UNACCEPTABLE, those "men" are vile monsters. It must have been so scary for you. I'm a huge fan of you and your adventures, as well as a father to two young girls, watching you tell this tale I was torn between empathy, anger and wishing that I could have been there (if just passing by) to protect you. How dare they! I hope that you NEVER experience anything like that ever again. You are strong, you are amazing, you are brave. I hope you can continue to make your wonderful videos and that you will forever stay safe.

As a solo female,you will feel super safe whenever and wherever you travel to China,anytime and anywhere.China is the safest countries in the world.Nobody will harass or even disturb you!China has fantastic food and good landscapes(ancient,modern,diversity,clean)!Welcome to China for travel and I'm sure that you will be shocked because China is not what you expected and western media described!As a travel vlogger, it's a pity if you didn't go to China for exploring ,worth to go definitely!

Tamilnadu is best place for solo travelers..because here all mind their own business..guests are like god to the people..2000 year old Tamil literature also says like that..next time visit south first..its more developed also...

Hi Phoebe, I learned a lot from your videos when I was travelling to Australia and I have been following your page since then .. they were very helpful .. as an Indian I feel extremely ashamed that you had go through this.. India can be a little unsafe and since the population is this much there are all sorts of people here.. I am so sorry you had this experience.. and I hope you are feeling better now.. and to people who are planning to travel to India solo or in group I would suggest that try and find good reputable companies as your tour agents or plan your own itinerary in advance .. this is what I do when I travel India or anywhere across world..

The some part of India is chaotic if want visit India try the southern part you will find good places good food and friendly people

Hi Phoebe, I'm from Kerala, India and sorry to hear about your bad experience in India. I don't want to sound patronizing like others, as I think you would have figured many stuff by now on your own in the hind sight. But I sincerely request you to please upload a separate video with all the prepetrators of your bad experience in India. Including the tour group, videos or pictures of people who have harrassed you. I know, you may sometimes recieve cyber bullying for this from the ignorent Indians, but educated ones who understands the gravity of the situation will support you. Indian government itself is trying to improve their external brand and hence I m sure will take action on this. Please do tag the police departments of the respective states. Finally, i sincerely hope this wouldn't be the last impression of you about India. I remember your lovely memories of Kerala, even though you were with a group. Please do give a second chance, this time visiting Kerala again, Hampi, Bangalore, the northeast India etc. Please do your due diligence and stay with the best rated hosts in Airbnb and travel with local guides (Like Anand or Singh) and avoid the big tour agencies. Hopping for a better and safer travel next time. Good luck. Take care.

Never hire a guide in India. All guides receive commissions from the places they take you to. Instead, I suggest asking locals for help and recommendations.

Hi there Phoebe - Sorry for the really poor treatment you received at the hands of these really nasty people in my homeland. You need to share more details about these really bad tour companies, the hotel details and the various cab and tour guides you had. In today’s world of social media these guys who are trying to make money off harassment should be punished where it hurts most - economically. Share and shame these folks on social media immediately. Raise your concern with women groups in India. If you need connections I am happy to share them with you. However, I would highly recommend fighting back hard. These men were bullies and bullies only respond to pushback. I too have a daughter who I hope would want to visit India on her own someday, but your story puts that in doubt. So please, share more details and fight back for your sanity and for the sake of so many others like Anand in Mumbai who are just doing their job as professionally as possible. Sadly, guy like him also suffer as they get bracketed into the same group.

Yes, visit Denmark especially Copenhagen. Take a walk in The Tivoli Garden, try the Canal Tour, look at The Little Mermaid, walk through Nyhavn, see the shopping street Strøget but be prepared it is a little expensive to visit Copenhagen. But the water is so clean you can drink the water directly from the tap.

i dont know why but indian ppl go crazy over white foreingers there was this exchange student from uk at my school my senior and we played basketball and when i took him to the park which was nearby by sport complex the amount of photo which he tooked he said he doesnt have that much photo of his on his phone idk why ppl do it really dont i am indian and i just cant understand it and if you are women and blonde than toh photos and photos

Hi Phoebe, I am really sorry to hear about this. I have been to 27 of the 28 States of India and to all the 8 UTs. I know it is a difficult country to travel to for a solo female traveler coming from abroad..would be best to go in groups or with people who know the place well. It is always recommended to book in 4-5 star hotels while travelling in India (I know you may miss a bit on the local flavor etc) but safety wise etc is much better. I have traveled to many locations even with my young daughter alone, and avoided such experiences such as the person trying to get into your hotel room in Goa that you talked of. You should have picked locations like Ladakh, Sikkim and Meghalaya first for your experiences as a solo traveller...and could have done the popular destinations like Rajasthan, Goa through a good travel agency in India or people that you personally know...........if you ever travel to India again, would be happy to recommend

When I first saw your video that you traveled to India alone, I felt scared for you. My family and I travel a lot, but India was never and will never be a part of our list. I've heard and seen a lot of negative experiences from foreigners traveling there, some of them experienced something a lot worse than what you went through. And I'm sure not everyone there are that disgusting, but it's not worth the risk. I'm glad that you're okay. And spreading this video should help and warn other people to just skip India because there are a lot of other places out there that are much safer to visit. And yes, this isn't even my personal account because I know those people are most likely going to spam mine. if anyone wants to visit India, especially alone, no --- just NO!
