Derailing is an intended feature. In early versions, that actually happened, but then they increased the derail speed and decreased the minecart speed cap, so it doesn't happen under normal circumstances anymore

There used to be an update that made minecarts extra fast but the devs reverted the change because of the derailing bug shown in this video
It wasnt a bug, they didnt wanted the minecart to be too op, but the dumb kids cried that the roller coasters no longer worked

Honestly, the thumbnail of this video gave me an idea to invent a "bored corner" in my world. Its just a minecart rail system that repeats over and over again
The fact that when the minecart essentially threw logic to the wind and hit the speed of light, it wasn't aimed at any buildings, and only stopped after literally travelling back a few seconds into the past and slammed into one of the buildings it had, only moments ago, passed at a normal speed... 100% ended me and reduced my brain to a liquid. You achieved something that is insanely hard to do.. partly because my brain generates an endless stream of utterly absurd ideas 24/7

I would have liked to see what would happen if you dropped a minecart onto a powered rail in between two circular tracks since it didn't like it that much. Would it bounce back and forth or basically BLJ into oblivion.

Hey Element, i think the problem is that the minecarts are being stopped from having aerial inertia due to air resistance sor something.
Try coding that out, so that you dont slow down while youre flying in the minecart in the air!

3:28 - Noticed you lost momentum at that jump because of the gap and drop at the end of the track.
I believe Minecraft minecarts conserve speed on tracks, but when you hit a gap followed by a drop, the cart loses its built-up momentum due to the transition from being on the track to falling and then landing.
To keep your speed up for future, try to minimize any gaps and drops right before your target. Keep it flush to maintain momentum upon impact. Hope this helps!
