- Largely a talking video today, sorry! Lots of progress coming next week. But in typical fashion, things take longer than planned. But today we said goodbye to the car that started the channel! But it’s for the best!
Please consider supporting the builds on Patreon or by getting some merch!

Have you ever finished any of your restoration projects?
Yes, if you look at some of the earlier videos you will see a storage unit with several. All the builds on this channel have been started since the channels conception, six months ago
Great call and video. As I see it you saved that DBS. You did videos on it and therefore brought it to the worlds attention. Now it has moved on to be restored and be put back on the road. Well done 👏.
Thank you! I’m glad it has gone to someone who will finish it and love it! It’s just not rusty enough for me…
Please invite the new owner back when it is finished. Totally understand your motivation on this one.
That’s a good idea! Will do!
The red DBS could only be restored by an incredibly skilled panel man who wants it for himself. 99% of car bodyshops in the UK would not have the skills to rebuild the chassis/body of that car. I doubt that £100k would be enough to pay a high end bodyshop to restore the shell of that car. Sad but true.
The chassis is actually very simple and all the components are available to buy for it, so that won’t be terribly hard. The aluminium body work remains in good condition, apart from obviously it’s missing the nose section. That’s where things get tricky. You can have them made for about 10k. But about once a year a used one will appear for about 1k. So eyes are always on eBay…
I actually think it adds a lot of charm to your channel that you don't just have a fat wad of cash laying around to blow on your cars. I get kind of sick of that...
He clearly does have an enormous amount just see what he spends. Don't be taken in. It's a good watch but this guy is posh with knows on with vast resources.
I appreciate that! And I agree, so many builds on CZcams now are so expensive and unattainable, it takes the fun out of it!
I know some will try and argue that I’m underplaying things, but I really am not wealthy or even close. I don’t own a house yet! But I just love cars and sharing it with like minded people is great fun!
Once again proving that talking is your strong point. Very interesting story and information!
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed! Back to turning wrenches in the next episode!
Certainly made a lovely job of restoring it 😃
Went for the lightweight approach 😉
“I’m not some “millionaire stud”” (well as they say: it’s not all about the money ha ha!) keep doing what you’re doing young man. 🙏
Haha indeed, money is the boring part! Lots to
come :)
@@HudsonAutoFilms yes! ( don’t think the clean & comfy sofas have gone un-noticed ha ha!) Live long and prosper🖖😁
If you need a bit more space get rid of the two sofa’s 😂
Where would I sleep!
@@HudsonAutoFilms… The floor 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️😉🤣
You’ve got me!
Hi there. Good move, your reasonng is solid and wise. Always sad to say goodbye to old friends but, inspiration, satisfaction and fun are just around tyhe bend. Grteat to see you gaining so much space also. Keep on truckin" i am looking forward to the next episode. Onwards and upwards. God bless.
Thank you Jeff! Absolutely, bitter sweet, but definitely the right move now things are getting so much more intense with the restos! Best wishes!!
I like your passion, and honesty. I watch nearly 20 car related channels and the bulk of them make chasing revenue streams a priority over commitment to quality content. When your channel grows larger promise me you will follow Harry Metcalf and Ian Tyrells approach to advertising, which is just to feature a banner for a car related product. I cannot abide the 3 min+ monologue on some shite that no one of sound mind would ever dream of purchasing. Have a good weekend!
Don’t worry, that will never be me! I’m the same, the second I see a car CZcams start talking about hair loss or ball trimmers I click away! I just want to build these cars!
Not sure I'd want that Bullitt thing, I'd certainly want the DBS V8 I remember when the first came out and have dreamed of having ever since
The bullit is just for fun. But the early DBS I have is much more to my liking. I’ve always preferred the lines of the early cars to the later V8
Nice looking Matchless G11
Need to get that ready for summer too!
Yes, I do see the sense of keeping the Bullet. It'll make such a unique fire on Bonfire Night.
Exactly! I love the smell of burning fibreglass, nothing like it
@@HudsonAutoFilms Do take the Aston Martin badges off first though!!
Sad to see it go but it was interesting seeing you take on 3 projects all at once. If you're happy for what you've got for it, you can give the other 2 more attention, so I see it as a win win.
Absolutely, I just fell out of love with this one. But very excited by everything else!
Seems like an eminently sensible decision.
I think so! Time to press on with the cars I’m really taken by!
Impressed by your pragamatic approach. This does however make me feel that your wish to reserect absolute basket cases points to an eventual build of a car starting with nothing but maybe of your own design.
I’m always optimistic! I have started designing a few specials! I’ll get on to them eventually!
Right decision! Should help the other projects move forward- and looking forward to seeing that!! 👍
Absolutely! I’m much more taken by the others, so will be nice to get on with them!
If you come across an early AMV8 coupe body let me know. I have a banham conversion and would love to change it back to a coupe. The cost to change the original back is astronomical!
Is yours the green one that was recently on the market? I’ll keep my eyes out! I may know of one…
No, mine is Cumberland Grey. It’s actually really nice but would like to return it to its former glory one day.
Lovely. It’s a tough one…I fear the cost (even with a donor) would be so vast. But I think the Banhams are a rare and appreciating breed. May be worth holding on to it as is!
We've identified about 20 Banham convertibles and a few more of different origin. Know one that is being converted back. Not many more to find I think. What colour was yours originally?
@@tinnarsmoat Cosmic Fire Cairngorn Brown was how it left the factory. I know its also been green at one point from a previous auction it was in. The car was previously owned by a Museum in Liverpool!
The new owner must have testicular fortitude as well , not for the faint hearted but you got it to a good transitioning point. You will have a lot of “fun” with the other two so onwards and upwards and good luck
There is always a need for a degree of testicular strength with classics! Very much looking forward to cracking on!
Just be careful. You've sold the car that probably attracted most people, myself included to your channel!
Don’t worry! It’s actually been the least successful car on the channel! But I’ll always do what’s best for the cars first and foremost!
@@HudsonAutoFilms I came for the Bullet! 👍
Lots more of that!!

Haha too right!!
Oh when you said space

🙄🥴😮🥴😮🥴😮😁
That was actually a good idea. I definitely didn't think that the red bucket, er... dbs could be any good and that interesting but it is. The silver one was actually too good to be interesting anymore😅
The silver one was mainly in need of body work, which is easy to find on CZcams if you need a fix! I quite like the name red bucket! It’s so buggered, so everything needs doing which makes it quite fun and satisfying!
Enjoyed your video. Sometimes making room and cashflow leads to better results for the other cars. Looking forward to next week's video. Marc from Australia 🇦🇺
Absolutely, important to focus efforts! Thanks Marc!
It makes total sense to sell it just from a youtube perspective.. you re not going to do the same car twice; and the more rot the more views. Not to mention that you can t spread on that many projects…
The more rot, the more views - so true! Absolutely, it’s hard to juggle them at times. And even harder to try and make dramatic progress (enough to make a video) each week. So in this case, less is more!
Totally agree with your reasoning and decision on the DBSV8, however, I was looking forward to seeing how it turned out. Is there any chance your buyer would agree to you showing it to us - or is he doing his own video?
I’m sure he would! I’ll ask him as seeing him soon. I think he’s quite private so won’t be filming it. But I’ll get him back to the shed when it’s done!
You could put that spare Chrysler v8 into the replica😉
Now…that’s a good idea 😏
Can’t describe how good your content is, something to always love👏
Thank you! That’s really kind, lots more to come!
Clever strategy, it definitely pays not to be a hoarder.
Having put multiple classic cars through my hands , mainly at a profit , I totally agree with your sentiment.
The best days are definitely the buying day and the selling day , nothing as fulfilling as seeing the brake lights disappear, for the last time and wads of cash in pocket .
I personally couldn’t give a “fiddlers f😮😮k about matching numbers.
But sure what would I know after 40 years of success and enjoyment at no cost.
I wish you loads of success with the channel, I hope it funds many big purchases in future.
There was a half decent capri shell sold at anglia auctions last week cheap ( less than £2 k), I hope you , or a benefactor bought .
I have a hoarding tendency, but it’s best to have less! And absolutely, nothing better than a deal going through!
I agree about matching numbers, if you enjoy it, who cares if the engine is original!
I didn’t see that capri, but I’m going to repair the chassis, parts aren’t too much. Gosh I wish I had a benefactor…then I’d get the barn wired up to the mains!
Well done, there will always be another car, we all need to bring cash in from time to time for our projects! Looking forward to the next videos.
Exactly! Lots to come, a big episode next week!
Living the dream, bro!
Respect...🙏👋
Thanks for the support! Lots to come :)
as well as the cars, the little bit of ingenuity, in years to come I can say I was there when Isaak first spoke on camera 😅😅
Haha, now he’s a movie star
Good on ya. Flipping makes you some money. On your way to the next deal.
Absolutely! Got to keep things ticking over!
I think you should be awarded the Victoria cross for taking on the red one! 😂
Could you put in a good word for me? 😂
Told you buying the cheapest and making them look better than half restored is financially viable moving up the ladder
Absolutely, I’ve done quite a few in that vain. Often more margin than full resto. But with this one, I did plan to keep it. But things changed!
ahh was looking forward to the resto mod project on this one
The red one will be even more of a resto mod!!
Always good to follow a journey, wherever it may lead. And that 50 quid should come in handy 😉 (just kidding). Looking forward to your next episode
Glad you’re enjoying!! I can now buy a lot of takeaways! Lots of work in the next episode!
Excellent! I was worried you’d be surviving on Pot Noodle if you didn’t do something. Take care.
what project will use the mopar engine for ?
I’m not sure at present. I think it will go into something yet to be conceived!
Guess the real downside of selling is losing any reference for the red rotter. Though as you say, no two of these things are the same anyway.
Exactly, when I tried to reference it…they were so far out from each other. So my optimism of them being able to help each other was wrong!
"Finacially logical"? Is that really a thing? Never was for me, just ask my wife.
Haha I’ve just learnt about it, not sure I’ll try it again!
@@HudsonAutoFilms Nah, highly over rated.
Noooooo 😔😔
😥😥 don’t worry, lots more Aston in store!
Could have turned it into a historic race car, they go for big bucks…
Nice idea! But without any racing history it limits them. Someone made a historic racing one a few years ago, spent a tonne on it - it recently sold for 30k which is low for finished DBS! I guess they’re so heavy, perhaps not something you’d want to throw around a corner too hard!!
Congrats. You sold the only viable restoration. Now you can buy another 10 impossibly rusted cars that will collapse into dust before our eyes. LOL
How are you reading my mind???
@@HudsonAutoFilms you have form
truth hurts?best way is to delete my post! You ain't restore shit in your life!
I thought you didn’t care? I deleted because it was pointless negativity on a car video! They’re just bloody cars, calm down. If you had watched the videos you would have seen several restored cars that have been sold. The channel has been going for 6 months, and all the builds on here were started at the same time.
Critics in life sometimes make us better,stronger,wiser...or you want in your life ass licking people that you telling you that you are super cool ???!!!I didn't insult you in comment ,i'v been just frank to you .letting people to express their opinion is freedom of speech and first thing about democracy. You put your life in public(in exchange for little money,publicity...?)deal with consequences it is inevitable.@@HudsonAutoFilms
Flog everything including all the parts and buy a car you can restore. It must be original. These cars were the engine/running gear they can't be called an AM without a AM engine. Sell the lot and invest in something decent. You are making too many excuses clearly you have a LOT of funds. Don't destroy a car and put a crap engine in it. AMs don't deserve that.
Quite presumptuous. I do not have a lot of funds, I’m 25 and working hard to build a life and career - not there yet. I’ve always bought and sold cars, you can quite easily trade your way up to more valuable cars which is what I’ve done. But I’m not in the position to buy a 40k project car, not even close. Hence the need to liquidate a large portion of it.
Not sure what excuses I’m making. No cars are being destroyed, just fixed. An Aston with the wrong engine is better than an Aston being scrapped.
i will look back and say i should have done it ..
Sometimes that’s the way!
