The way they changed the books in that regard is the best thing they've done. I think they're gonna keep changing it, even though they messed up the ending of S1. Why do you think they introduced the Crows from the very beginning? Because if they actually follow the trilogy, the only thing that's gonna keep the show alive will be Ben and the Crows, since nobody really cares about the rest of the dumpster fire she wrote in there. It's the only show out there where not following the books is a smart thing to do.
