  • What better way to prepare for Lent and Easter than to listen to conferences from a monk about prayer? In fact, a Benedictine monk is uniquely qualified to teach this valuable skill, since he spends so many hours a day in prayer.

In early October 2013, Fr. Cassian traveled to St. Benedict's Abbey in Still River, MA to give ten conferences to their monastic community. A common thread through his talks is "praying without ceasing", but we can all learn much from his great wisdom and experience. Treat yourself to these free talks and use them as a way to improve your prayer life this Lent.

Thank you. Help me improve my prayer life. It's been a year doing Divine Office and because of this series of talks become more meaningful. Special this lent season become like a blessing from the Father in giving the gift of praying, fasting and alms-giving.

The Divine Office is a wonderful gift that has been too much forgotten in recent times. Which form of the Office do you pray?

@@johnnathanmabulay6658 Good for you. Keep going. Keep your eyes open as well: the Holy See had commissioned the US Bishops several years ago to issue a new English translation of the Liturgy of the Hours and I think it was supposed to be approved by them this year but Covid-19 may have messed that up.

@@johnnathanmabulay6658 Looking through the news it sadly does not look like it is going to be published this year. Here is a link to a page on the USCCB website that catalogues all the updates to the project: www.usccb.org/prayer-and-worship/liturgy-of-the-hours/liturgy-of-the-hours-second-edition.cfm

I enjoyed the sermon Father but can't help feeling you were cramming too much details and facts into one speech and it was kind of hard to keep up.
