    First i want to say it is great seeing you back, Second still love the hair lol. You are trying to hold on to what was that you are affraid to accept changes. There are things in life we can not control and we always look for comfort in what we know over finding beauty in the ugly times. The same way you have changed is the same way the world change, but changes is a way to see who we truly are deep inside beyond the traumas and abuse of life. We find true love and what makes us trult happy. You still find comfort in your isolation. Everything happens for a reason. If the road was not washed out and you didn't push on what would you learn and discover? We get so use to things we forget to think. This was a way to show you that sometimes the things we plan out never happen as plan. There is an old saying "never say never" meaning we never know what we would do if put in certain situations. It is not always about our choices but the intentions behind our choices. You still have a good heart and care for nature. This trip was more of a spiritual heal but you kept looking at the physical. I pray that this help and i told you that you got a friend here and it is great to have you back. Not all changes are a bad thing cause changes also bring growth. Right now you are in your winter and just waiting on your spiritual spring to see you blossom again. Things happen for a reason. Remember there is two sides to a coin, which side are you focus on. Good can come out of bad and bad can come out of good. Find your balance and when you can't see good or bad find the humor and you'll be ok. Your friend Heyoka and you are never solo we got your back.

      @@OverlandLady You are welcome but i am only speaking the truth. Remember the truth can set us free. We have more inner battles than that of the world. Nature has always been your comfort zone and a place of calm and balance. Nature hasn't changed you did, but not all changes are bad cause now you appreciate things a little deeper than before. It is difficult to not be attached to things that bring us comfort but nothing last forever so appreciate the moment. Don't be so wrapped up in the moment that you don't see the changes and can't adapt. Nature will always be your therapy you have have a different set of eyes on how you view life. I still would love to go camping with you lol. Stay awesome and like i said you are never alone and we all love you even if we don't say as much as we should. It is a blessing to have you back. Look at all the comments saying how you been missed. You got a second family here that appreciate you and what you do, but also truly have you overlanding our hearts.

    ITS GOOD TO SEE YOU BACK, PICKING YURSELF UP AND GROWING IN A POSITIVE NEW DAY. NOTHING BUT TIME CAN BRING HEALING , IN ALL THINGS TRAGIC. BECAUSE AT THE END OF THE DAY ITS OUR WALK, OUR LIFE AND JOURNEY. IN MY OWN WALK SOME THINGS HAVE TAKEN ME YEARS TO HEAL FROM. MOST RECENT, BOTH MY PARENTS PASSING. AND THEN GETTING LAYED OFF MY BEST JOB EVER, BARELY 4 YEARS TO RETIREMENT. I LEFT CALI JOBLESS, AND MOVED TO IDAHO, NO FRIENDS NO FAMILY. THE FIRST YEAR 2021 WAS DEPRESSING AND LONELY. AS WE ENTERED 2022 IT WAS MORE OF THE SAME, BUT AS THE YEAR ENDED, I HAD TO GRASP MY ROOTS AND GET MY EYES BACK ON JESUS. HERE ITS MAY 2023, AND IM HAPPIER, MORE HEALTHY IN MIND AND SOUL, AND I HAVE FAITH TOMORROW WILL BE EVEN BRIGHTER. HANG IN THERE LIL LADY, I DIG THE RIG AND WE MISS YUR JOURNEYS, EDITING, AND THE RIG YOU ARE CAPABLE OF BUILDING. BE BLESSED , PEACE.

  • @unconventionallifestyle4827

    You are recovering well, and learning from each detail in life, how to best enjoy each situation.
    Nothing in life is constant, except that changes are not predictable in magnitude or frequency.
    Each moment of life is precious, ..more so, when it is shared, with those who have same values as yourself.
    Life is divided in days and seasons, allowing us a fresh start, and fresh perspective, for each time we miss some good details. We only are able to build timeless memories, by what we share, as anything we keep to ourselves, we also loose when we pass.
    We are valued, by how we react and interact with people, ...is why some ugly old people are highly valued, while others are hardly noticed, no matter how good they may appear.
    We are living in an age, where people have far less time to share, ..which is why the quality of the time you share, is highly appreciated !!!

      Every man and his dog has some sort of off road vehicle. Many don’t see dirt and are glorified shopping trolleys but the onse that do go offroad do it well. Since covid, offroading and camping has increased. Caravan sales are so hectic, there is about a 14 month wait for new builds. Van prices hit the roof as well. Our mild winters and lack of snow help.

      @@classicscustomsandhotrodso600 Same here in California. There are $150K (USD) trucks that have never seen the dirt. I'll take a Toyota Hilux (can't get them in the US) over anything else with an overland build to it. Waits are here as well, even for Toyota. Local dealer told me recently that they encourage buyers to order online since their goal is to have vehicles sold before they deliver to the dealer. I have friends with Mercedes Vans that are 5 years old getting offers from dealers to buy them for what they paid for them new. Crazy is right. ONly gonna get worse. Just glad Australia and US are allies because I'll need a place to retreat to when WWIII starts.

    I can totally relate to your fuel anxiety. I have a 1996 Landcruiser 80 Series 4.5L 6-cyl petrol. We're lucky that all Australian spec Landcruisers (from the 80 series up) came with twin OEM fuel tanks. But even with its factory twin fuel tanks, totalling 145L of fuel (90L main-tank / 55L sub-tank), it's still not enough for some of the long distance remote 4WD tracks we have in Australia. When off-road, I'd be lucky to push past 600kms (approx 800km pure on-road). 600kms in some of Australia's remote tracks isn't enough to cover distances between fuel stops. The diesel equivalent can cover approx 1000+km on-road & 800km off-road. Your new LC100, not having a sub-tank must be a JDM version. I love the 80 series style fender flares on your LC100. It makes it look tougher and rugged. 👍

    • @OverlandLady
      @OverlandLady  Před rokem +2

      I think only OZ ones come with factory dual. Altar also got factory dual and had similarly range as your 80. Later after crossing Nullarbor, I got a Longranger at the ARB in Perth and the way back was more stress free.

    • @fatmanoverlanding
      @fatmanoverlanding Před rokem +2

      @@OverlandLady I know some people that have been importing JDM 80 Series, have been fitting after-market auxiliary tanks to them. They have much larger volume than the factory ones. I'm sure you can do the same with your JDM LC100. I'm planning to fit the Longranger tank (165L) to replace the 55L OEM Aux tank. Add that to my 90L main tank, should improve my touring coverage between fuel stops.

    Hi Monique. I ‘cherish’ the piece of altar (sp?) you sent me. From Japan to Australia to Canada - I have a piece of your history (don’t worry, it won’t tell me any secrets 😉 ). It is the jack compartment cover, and I love it is gray in my tan interior . . . Anyways wtf is wrong with us? Why do we feel these trucks have heart and soul? (Because they do!) My 98 is getting tired .. . So I bought a lower mileage 04 - but it is not the same. Not a ‘replacement.’ I hate the US nav system, and hvac controls on post 03 LC’s. 5 speed is nice. It is a ‘nice car’ but I love my truck. 2 LC’s in the driveway is fine for now - but eventually I have to make a choice. Rebuild the 98 (trans and engine) or commit to the 04. Regardless, your little piece of altar will live on with me 😊.

    Once that's done, though, you can look at things logically and if the price, performance and your knowledge of the LC100 makes it the best vehicle for you, you'd be nuts NOT to choose another one.
