      If I turn them to the outside, I cannot see what's directly behind me. If I turn them to the inside, I mostly see my arms (but I get a glance of what's behind).

    My bike came stock with bar ends and they are brilliant. Only problems are when they are loose. Just ensure you have quality bar ends. Plastic ones have these issues. Metal ones don't but add significant weight and will change how you handle you bike and feel

    Beats not having any mirrors like some folks do. On some motorcycles like my T120, the OEM mirrors offer more value as retro aesthetic piece. I replaced them with Triumph branded large round bar ends and can see a lot better than stock.

      Was about to say this. Also, it's dependent on the height of the rider but if you tilt the arms down more you can see much more behind you. I have a similar Puig Hi-Tech Type 4 mirror and I set them up so the arms are almost horizontal. Through this I can see a wide view of not just my sides but behind my back. IMO if you set up bar ends properly it'll do a better job than stock mirrors

      Yeah same exact issue here. I have broad ass shoulders (I'm also 6ft) and no matter how I adjusted my mirrors all I could see was my shoulder. the tiny ass bar ends I have are actually functional and are night and day difference

    sometimes I take one hand off the handlebar for a second --- left or right --- different reasons --- but these bar ends take away one avenue to get back to your grip. Still want them for the look.

    cheers for the true info .I've started to do the mirror on my left side .Its moving round, and without actually clueing the insert in theres no way to stop it from turning at a quick pace. I want to be able to take it out later if needed I might just give up the idea n just keep the standard mirrors . It looks great but if i can't get it properly stuck in theres no point lol

    • @TylerCharest
      @TylerCharest  Před 3 měsíci

      To stop the mirrors from moving, I cut strips from a metal soda can and used the strips as the insert. It could leave marks on the bar ends, but it stopped the mirror movement. #mirrorhack!

    I thought you were gonna talk about that it can lighten the front end causing a greater chance at speed wobbles. That’s my concern, and wish I knew before installing not bar end mirrors but bar end lever guards which look sick, but lighten the bars. I didn’t notice much change in vibration as of the one ride I did after a month of install this mod. Cause I recently got my licence back hence the hiatus. But good video, informative and I didn’t know they moved randomly sometimes but makes sense.

    Those mirrors are mounted incorrectly and oriented the wrong way. You need to rotate your mirrors 180 deg for you to get the right view of traffic behind you and not your shoulders.

      I just have them installed over the stock bar ends (the mirrors come with a variety of spacers). Rizoma does sell bar end adapters to ensure proper fitment with the mirror. I think they're an additional $50 per side.
