Stumbled across this video on mistake & I can say it's been the best mistake I've made this year! This was BRILLIANT! I agree with giving value as well. Awesome. What’s the main hurdle right now? It is worth breaking that down I said next couple months for years is all 😅 but once I started with little things on the list once a week it really wasn’t as big of a job as I had in my head. Best of luck with it all.
@@SocialScope lol fair enough. I'm moving into a new house in June and will have an office so I'm planning a build out. I guess the issues are design (not artistically minded at all but I do like the idea of a wooden background with a logo that's lit up).
Also gear. I'd like to upgrade my webcam. I'm leaning towards a gopro because in my mind I'll be doing stuff outside too (biking, kayaking, etc)
Finally, obviously, is cost. I make money with what I'm doing but convincing my wife to spend the money on my podcast/youtube after we just bought a house is a tough sell so it'll probably be a fairly tight budget.
Those are all very fair points my recommendation would be the GoPro then and rode wireless go ii mic set. I wouldnt worry about the studio for now. You can shoot anywhere with that combo and will be good to get the ball rolling.

I was just wondering what video editing software you were using to do the 4k crop :) Thank you
You can use Adobe premiere, Final Cut or DaVinci (free). You set your sequence to 1080 resolution but shoot your footage 4k, that means you can zoom in with out losing much quality :)

It is always going to depend on the room unfortunately but here are some simple things that might help.
If you have windows put up some thick curtains (or hang a thick blanket).
What sort of floors do you have? If it’s not carpet but wood or tiles get some nice rugs for the room (or once again thick blankets haha).
Another trick is to either put the foam panels on a board if you can’t put them on the wall. that way you can just move them around you until you find the sweet spot.
Also try to record in smaller rooms instead of large open spaces or outdoors.
Hopefully some of this is helpful haha 😂

Haha thanks it was just pre tinted flat black paint (no sheen works better for less light reflection)

Hahah yeah im rolling around on nearly the same, along with a few other things as well! (ie launching my Record Label, radio station and a recording studio as well as a photography company). I practically have everything just lacking on the motivation to get it officially up and going. But watching vids like yours and many others are what help me stay motivated just enough to stay enthusiastic enough to not give up the idea and calls it quits & end it.
Even after investing as much as I have in both money which is in the thousands now), and time / research.
Thanks again for the ideas and help that is slowly keeping this dream and ambition up and alive!! 👍
Haha man I can relate I’m a filmmaker into music, writing a book but it’s so easy to end up in the same spot at the end of the year with nothing to show because I wanted it to be perfect 🤦
If you have a moment watch our episode “the illusion of perfection” I have struggled for the longest time with having too many half baked ideas and none finished. now I just launch what ever I can and the results have been a lot better 😅

but always remember we both know about plenty of people who have gone viral that shot something small and silly on their phone. It’s all about the energy behind the piece of work not always the polish.

Usually all I do is just the play with the multiband compressor in premiere pro to be honest.

Best way to start, Rode Smart Lav straight into your phone. That’s all you need they are under $100 and record in a room that doesn’t echo too much.

What camera do you use to record the podcast?
Canon R6 set to 4k on a 1080 editing time line so we can crop in with out losing quality (a trick to look like you have more camera angles)

If painting over a light wall with a dark paint. You can save your self time painting coat after coat of paint by painting a layer of primer first! Tell the paint guys you are doing the opposite. ( painting a dark wall to white, this will make them mix a thick coat. More for your money. Otherwise they delute the solution to save money on their end.
Yeah you are absolutely right haha I use to recommend the grey primer all the time but it completely slipped my mind and I paid for it haha.

Really great Video, good knowledge and neat quality but I almost couldn't watch it through because of the whole censoring... if you cuss that much then just leave it as is.. it'll distract less than those SFX.. and there are several sentences with 3 or more effects and that kinda ruins the watching experience
