Our local dealer has the best tactic I’ve seen so far to keep equipment from being stolen. They just don’t have any stock. 😂
Just like Jack in the Box, "we don't make it till you order it" 😂
@@svtirefire does cut down on spontaneous purchases. So all and all, probably a good thing.
Service Motors ?
My local dealer encourages bank robbery, it's the only way you can afford their parts.
Those assholes probably don't know about trailer weight capacity or give a care. At least by the way he tore out of there.
My favorite happy ending happened in Florida when thieves running from the cops jumped into a pond and got eaten by alligators.
Mine was in a "massage parlor".
A terrible punishment for a thief. Death? I know it's not right to steal, but a death sentence?
Lego sets
@@virginiaoflaherty2983 Stupid should hurt and gators got to eat. I will not shed a tear for them. Good riddance.
Your story made my day. I needed that.
Glad they were caught, equipment recovered. As a 23 year security video expert I would adjust your cameras out and down. No benefit of 1/3 the image wall and sky. Also best to set up choke points with cameras set for identification. The cameras in your video would be considered situational awareness cameras. Identification cameras are low to get a vehicle/person ID and plates. More then happy to consult for you, no charge, if you have any questions. Would be my way to pay back for all of the great videos!
I am amazed at the number of video cameras placed in businesses that when they get broken into are basically worthless. Saw a lot of this during the BLM protests in Portland Oregon. I always think; why don't they have a camera lowerto see in the hoodie and under the baseball cap.
@@funnyfarm5555 I sat on a jury once, where the security video was a key bit of evidence, but it was so grainy, it was of not much use. The business owner had gone cheap or not kept up with technology because there were much better systems at the time with better video quality.
@@funnyfarm5555 I would think cameras are higher because it's more difficult to smash, cover the lens, etc for a camera 15' off the ground than one 5'
@@syncerus416 Good point. I was coming from all the ability to place miniaturized cameras out there they could place one where crooks couldn't see it.
Good advice. Always fill the picture with what you need to see. Unless you're looking for UFO's in the night sky. I've also been in the security biz for a while, you know what else helps, a WELL LIT area. The brighter the lights, the less likely assholes will be casing the place. Also help to have schedules set for weird hours so that you'll get notifications from the cams. A phone call in the early AM, then you have the cops take a look, blammo, caught. A good combination of bright lights and a minimum of 4MP cams and you can get a lot covered. I prefer HikVision and Dahua cams and NVRs.
"Petty" theft? Does that loader cost $40? That is felony theft.
yup, they should have dusted the trailer and machine for prints
60-70k
I think he meant as a one off, perhaps not real professionals. Petty people
@@virginiaoflaherty2983 Yes perhaps. That would fit the description better.
that's funny. You can't buy a Kubota ballcap for $40.
In the early days of our country, the hung horse thieves. Equipment thieves are modern day horse thieves. Tall tree, short rope.
In the early days of this country we had slavery. Things evolve and change.
Yeah, now they just let certain individuals go with a slap on the wrist! And, of course, throw the property owners in jail if they try to protect their property!
bullets are cheaper now. just pop em.
@@2011blueman Slavery still exists in the form of government welfare.
@@2011blueman
I don't understand what slavery has to do with punishing crooks. As a few others have posted, property owners have few rights sometimes. Crooks need to be held accountable for crimes they have done.
My uncle, long since deceased, but retired from a career in law enforcement always used to say "prisons are full of stupid people"! Glad you guys got the equipment back!
I bought land so I started doing some tractor research and this channel is a gold mine.
Never in a million years did I think it would turn into a true crime channel.
"The story you are about to hear is true. Only the names have been changed to protect the innocent."
We used to remove fuses to prevent theft where I used to work...
Great to see you guys got your equipment back without any damage!
Hope you good have luck in the future. I always trust kubota.
I now
Note to self get a bigger trailer!!
Don't cut these thieves any slack. Prosecute them to the full extent of the law !....Then have Corleone's pay them a visit.........
They must really like the color orange, hopefully soon they will be wearing orange prison jump suits!
those very from county to county state to state. seen orange White black stripes and pink yes pink :)
Neal, keep an eye on your kubota skid doors. I work for a police department in R.I. and we had one stolen a few weeks ago off a new kubota skid. Took literally minutes
When I saw the trailer and the thief's original walking path, I figured he was going after the side by side. Joke's on him! Glad it was recovered.
Locks only keep honest people honest. It’s the thieves and their parents failures in life not you guys.
RED SNAPPER electric fencer!!!!!! Maybe SEVERAL hooked together to crank up the shock voltage.
We have electric fences at our yard. Still hasn't stopped the theives.
Yeah i know how to hot wire the starter on my trk and im sure i could find the wire to power up the computer like you turned the key so only real good way would the keypad but still given time it could become defeatable
Even good parents can have a shitty kid.
@Game Bred Duramax That's only partially true. Even thieves use locks to stop other thieves from stealing the stuff they have stolen.
Glad you got your equipment back. Finally one for the good guys!
My Kubota dealer has some sort of electric extension cord running through all his equipment. If it gets unplugged, it looses power and sets off the alarm.
All fun and games until the thief just makes a jumper cable to go around the equipment they are stealing.
@@famousamoso7 If designed correctly, a normally-closed system would be very hard to defeat. You couldn't simply unplug it an stick on a jumper cable, you'd set the alarm off when it's unplugged. You'd have to cut the insulation away without cutting the wires, and then jumper the bare wires. Even then, you could use a capacitance sensor to defeat that technique. And anyone who knew enough about electronics to defeat the capacitance sensors (it can be done) would probably have a good job, and wouldn't be a thief.
is the alarm louder than a throttled up machine lol. he made soo much noise coming in witht he truck then moving the skid around and popping the trailer when loading.
@@Zack-dk3pt silent alarm going directly to the security company and police station.
Similar to what serious alarm systems on office buildings use.
@@jwenting thats a great solution
Glad you recovered your machine!
Always good to see a happy ending to a story like this. I often take comfort in knowing people dumb enough to steal/cheat and seemingly get ahead sometimes often get whats coming back to them at some point.
Might seem like they almost beat out the working man today, but tomorrow it will come back around to bite them.
There was a Kubota MX5200 stolen from my job site and then the thieves took my trailer to steal the tractor in a rural area in TX. I wish all of the keys weren't the same on these tractors and GPS was standard issue...I'm glad that you found your skid steer!
Glad there was a good ending. Thieves are just scum.
Not so much for the poor fella who got his trailer back crunched
Glad you all got the machine back. Interestingly enough, that trailer is a Homesteader brand trailer.. made 10 miles south of me in New Tazewell, Tn
Take care
Glad you got it back Neil
Glad you were able to recover your property!
Glad to see you got it back!
💥 It’s not often these stories have a happy ending. 👍
Keep on tractoring!
Pretty common actually, when I worked for Komatsu it was about 13-1 for every machine that got away and wasn't tracked down maybe 13 were.
So glad to see you got it back!
Glad to hear your equipment was found.
I’m glad you got your equipment back!
Glad y’all were able to recover that machine. We have keypads on all but one piece of our equipment and love the added security.
I'm happy you got your machine back. They deserve years in the slammer!!
Our local Kubota dealer suffered numerous thefts for a number of years. One night I was sent on a wrecked enclosed trailer. The dirtbags had gone into a curve too fast and left the road. The trailer was sitting there with the ramp down, and of course, was stolen. No truck to be found anywhere. I noticed faint mud tracks leading from the trailer going across the street to some buildings. In my best bloodhound mode, I tracked the marks, and hidden behind a building was three big mowers and a small backhoe. They were hidden from view. Thinking that they were going to come back and get the stuff, we put it under surveillance. 23 hours later they showed up. We let them load the stuff up and hit them as they were leaving. Funny thing? Not a single theft since that time. These dirtbags addmitted to new equiptment thefts in a fifty mile area over the past seven years. One got 17 years!! I despise thieves!!!!!!!
Pair of 3500# axels(7000#) with a 2000# trailer empty weight does't make a trailer happy when you load 9k+ into it.
so the payload of that trailer is just 5000 lbs ? seems it should be able to handle this little bobcat. However, 9300 lbs is the same weight as two new F150's. A simple motion detector would have stopped this theft. Anyone coming after hours should have a code or appointment. This is illogical.
@@BIKEMAN21 Yep 5000lb capacity max, probably even a little less. I've heard a lot of places put GPS trackers in all their equipment. Motion detection would be nice but probably annoying to deal with false triggers from wind blowing junk, rain, cats, etc, that would set them off at 4:00am. You could be a fortress gate but a skid steer could make short work at with that.
who the hell uses # instead of LB ????
@@brodybud It's been called the pound sign for nearly 200 years. It's entire purpose was to abbreviate LB for pound in printing.
you have no idea what 4wd ute and trailer was used to steal the machines.
Awsome!! Glad yous got her back.
Glad you got it back so quickly
Glad you got it back! We had a theft of skid steer on trailer along with other things. They found it a hour north in Cleveland ohio all burnt. Because they couldn't figure out code. They did get their new concrete pump back though truck oulling it was burnt
Neil, I'm glad you got the equipment back. What a beautiful machine. I love Orange. Your presence on youtube is a positive one and the recovery shows how much people appreciate you. Or at least I think so!
I can't stand a thief ! Glad you got it back !
Watching that skid go into that enclosed trailer was comical 😂
If it didn't have a door to get out the front it would have been even funnier...
WOW... Great Security Footage and keen eye for product/trailer knowledge on your part Neil! Glad that you recovered it ';-)
Nice to see you got your gear back, Cool.
Glad you got it back. I work at a powersports dealership and some one last week came and stole a 22ft enclosed trailer from us at 2 in the afternoon . Hook and book with the cable still attatched found the trailer two days later abandoned in detroit
Awesome!!!!!!! I can’t wait till you catch them.
glad you got it back
Glad you got it back
So I guess Messick's has ended the 5 Finger Discount program! LOL! Glad you got your equipment back!!! Great video! Thanks for sharing❗❗❗ 🙂🙂🙂 👍👍👍
Glad to see you got your equipment back!
We just had a big bust in my home town. They’d be out every night of the week taking wheelers, sleds, trucks, skid steers and tools.
Sounds like what is happening around my local area . . . minus the big bust...
I can't believe it fit. I have several enclosed trailers but I don't think my 325G could clear the height! Glad you got it back!!!
Glad you got it back. It always amazes me and makes me sad that people can be so blatantly dishonest.
Sadly there is an over abundance of entitled or just plain lazy scum out there that rationalize their actions by believing all victims have insurance. They don’t care that every consumer pays for the loss with increased insurance premiums or in the case of very large corporations, higher prices.
Happy ending for Messicks, not so much for the trailer company.
Not yet at least. Sounded like they at least have leads. Will that lead to recovering the cost of repairs...
@@bobvogel9916 Even if they could repair the trailer, it likely could not be sold as new.
@@timothybarney7257 in my country it would be sold as new :)
That's a nice trailer. But 7k gvw, easily 3.5 k empty so 3.5k payload.that thing is for moving furniture . ..haha.
@@timothybarney7257 Like New! Only used 1 time.
I hope you eventually do an update video once the court case is complete!
While watching the video, I was thinking that trailer wasn’t rated for that kind of weight. Glad you got it back in the same condition it left.
I felt bad for that trailer lol. Glad you guys got skid back.
Glad to hear it was recovered without damage. Hopefully the individuals involved are prosecuted to the full extent of PA law.
It was damaged. Throttled the hell out of a cold engine. I’m not paying sticker for it.
You have a community that likes you and is willing to help you. That is a sign of an honest dealer who provides good service. The relationship between an equipment dealer and the community is symbiotic. Both need each other to survive and thrive.
so sad, but glad you were able to get them back. Good people make the difference
Wow, bent the axle(s) and flattened the springs! I've, ahem, overloaded similar trailers and never did that!
Glad to see you had good results so far. Hopefully they get what they deserve
As soon as I saw that trailer pull in I was thinking they must be stealing something pretty light. Most of those little van trailers aren't made to carry much weight.
They must be new to this. They probably figured the enclosed trailer would hide the stolen equipment, but didn't factor in, no construction company ever uses them because they can't take the weight.
That trailer would have 7,000lbs axles. Trailer probably weighs 1500lbs. Which would leave you 5,500lbs for load.
Glad kubota got there equipment back im a die hard kubota guy
Definitely a happy ending in this video, just glad the the equipment was recovered and no money was lost.
Can’t stand a thief. Glad you got your equipment back.
Glad to hear you recovered your equipment. Unfortunate we have people like that.
Glad you got the equipment back. Consider facial recognition software. It can be trained to identify movement on fixed cameras, and even identify movement in only certain grids of the images, so for example normal traffic on a nearby road can be ignored, movement everywhere else sends an alert.
Happy to help consult with you to help your security. We can greatly improve your video from UNIFI cameras.
I know next to nothing about it, but my Amazon cloud cameras can detect motion and send me a notification. I can immediately see it from my cloud app. I can also adjust zones and sensitivity.
Professional equipment is a hundred times better I'm sure.
I’ve never seen someone put a skidsteer inside an enclosed trailer. Good thing the thieves weren’t very smart.
You've never seen someone transport a stolen brand new bright orange skidsteer
I didn’t think that trailer was up to the job but there are enclosed trailers that could be though of course. This one was probably 7K total rating. Which really leaves like 5K of capacity at best.
@@KEOutdoors Put a tarp over it on a standard heavy rated trailer.
@@xephael3485 better plan would have been a tractor trailer with a low boy. Painted in Kubota colors to throw off any nosey cops. Have lookouts along the roads with walkie talkies to call out anyone driving by.
@@Twitch760 🤣
Also a good time to touch on buying used equipment from a third party. It is always a good idea to run the serial number of the machine . You can do a Iron Check on NER National Equipment Register . And if it seems to good of a deal it might just be.
Looking forward to any theft deterrent device demos for tractors in the future.
If you find the thieves, be sure to chain them between the tractor and pull scale on your next capacity video.
Hidden fuel shutoff valves work as does home cameras.
@@jh9855 great suggestion and or including a hidden kill switch. Thieves are lazy that’s why they are thieves so almost any effort helps deter the boneheads.
@@jh9855 serious question. If you had a fuel shut-off valve could it still run, say a few minutes, enough to get it on a trailer? I'm asking cuz I have no idea how that operates. Thanks
Glad you were able to get your machine back!! This small equipment with mini-excavators, CTLs, and skid-steers is so useful and really has a foothold in the construction market but very easy to steal such as with the enclosed trailer. That trailer could be sitting across the street from your yard and you'd have no idea your CTL was in it!! The common-key is so handy between machines on job sites but obviously a theft-issue as well. Agree with the comment below as to security-camera coverage in terms of aiming. Perhaps a keypad with automatic gate would be helpful and then periodically changing the codes for those delivering parts or just restrict delivery hours like a number of other businesses do from say 7AM-6PM, etc. I work on many construction sites and the best have enforced hours to both prevent outside thefts and internal thefts between subcontractors.
Glad the guys got caught. Too bad the company who owned the trailer wasn't so lucky. Sounds like that trailer is junk now.
That was a lot of weight for that ramp. If it would of had wheels that ramp would of been toast! Glad you got your machine back.
Good for you !
It is pretty admirable for a dealership to openly admit they have been robbed.
Others would try to keep down the spread of information.
Thank you for your honesty
Good to hear you we’re able to recover the skid loader ! Crime didn’t pay that time ! I hope the law will be able to find the culprits!!
We need some Harvey's CZcams videos. mmmmmmm
Bendersville PA, this place must have some epic bars.
Great Ending 👍👍
Great to see a happy ending!
My local dealer has been hit numerous times. They have recovered some but not all. They told me it cost them $5000 per machine to claim through insurance. I’m glad you got yours back.
Dang, that sounds like the insurance screwed them over, per claim. (This one assumes the machines cost more than $5k )
Shannagons are off the charts lately. All around. Pretty bold.
Glad you got your stuff back. Hate seeing people get away with stuff like this. Maybe if possible
set up some sort of motion alarm that would notify you or another employee that someone is on
the property at lease you would be able to check on your phone to see if they belong there or not.
I was a warehouse ops manager for a wholesale distributor for a few years. We had our own fleet drivers make overnight drops and pickups, but I had to put up the guard dogs and open the lot for their access. Commercial deliveries only occurred during business hours. I lived within a few miles of there, so I'd leave the house around 3am and get back home around 4am. The best part was the Krispy Kreme that was on the way home. Hot doughnuts off the conveyer, cup of coffee, morning newspaper, and I was ready for a couple more hours of sleep. Good memories.
Fair winds and following seas to all.
Gates and locks keep honest people out. This guy obviously knew what he was doing.
Inside job... and suddenly the plot thickens lol, glad to hear a somewhat happy ending as that’s not often the case in these situations. I hate the idea of having to chain up equipment, use cameras, gps tracking, chipped keys, all of it just to still have a machine when I wake up, so THEN I can go to work and make enough to be able to pay the bills
Worked at a Cat dealer in the rental shop years ago. Standard practice was to leave keys in all the equipment in the yard. One weekend, local high-school aged kids decided to joyride almost every machine in the yard. Could have been serious injuries or major damage done, but luckily none of that happened. That Monday morning there was a new company policy regarding keys.
How sad this happens in America. I am happy you got the machinery back in one piece.
Great Ubiquiti cameras!
Great video nice you got your machine. Locks 🔐 are for Honest people.
Individuals doing things like this should be dealt with like how they dealt with horse thieves back in the early 1800's...
I understand your sentiment but two completely different crimes. The punishment for that crime back in the 1800's was Justified, but today the theft of a horse resulting in the hanging of a man would not be justified.
@Dennis B
Just to clarify my statement and what it's based on is as follows:
Back in the 1800's if you stole a horse the crime was hanging due to without your horse, you and if you had a family could starve. It was the only mode of transportation, depending on the type of horse, work the soil etc. A horse was incredibly expensive and they still cost a pretty penny to buy and feed.
Today the horse doesn't play the same role. That is my basis for my comment.
Have a great evening.
In the UK there is a company that retrofits GPS/radio signal trackers, they've been in operation for several years. That company not only provides service for companies but individuals as well, some are on 24 hour monitoring.
Glad for the happy ending!!
Glad you got this machine back!
I reckon we'll see more & more theft of equipment such as this, even from farms. Good advice at the end: lock your equipment away. (And install a good alarm/security camera system, like in this video!)
Those of us who work really hard for a living truly resent those who steal from us for a living and we'll continue to improve our technology and other -- ahem -- ways of interfering with their attempts to do so. So glad you were able to get your equipment back, though I feel bad for the trailer dealer whose trailer got messed up.
Our local Kubota dealer uses an extension cord alarm system that snakes in and around all machinery. Apparently when you unplug it the alarm goes off.
I was always curious what would happen if you overloaded a 3500 pound axle trailer. Pretty crazy. The leaf springs flattened out.
Same lol
Kubota dealership in Decatur, Tx had constant equipment thefts until they put in pipe rail and that put an end to items getting stolen.
You sure are sharing a lot of information that will give thieves more to go on.
Something similar is happening in Slovenia, New Holland tractors are stolen from farmers because the keys are mostly the same and can be easily stolen.
I've always wondered about businesses like this. They have never looked very secure.
Glad you got your loader back undamaged
Happend to my families kubota dealership in Oxford Mississippi. Got two mowers and a tractor. Took the truck and trailer too. Caught them down in Louisiana.
Awesome prosecute them to the maximum hopefully they get 20 years.
