Well this is the one the prime minister is currently pondering. He's talking about putting China on an 'enhanced' list - which basically sounds like a glorified registration. But is he prepared to risk trading links? Or shut down Confucious institutes in the UK - China's soft power - or even say no to tiktok?
Also - the Tavistock child gender identity services are shutting their doors for good this week, after the Care Quality Commission declared the care they were offering our children was 'inadequate'. We speak to the investigative journalist Hannah Barnes, who helped expose the failures at the Tavistock. And we ask where children in need of help should seek it now?

Why do we interview politicians ??
a) To find out what they're thinking about a particular subject.
b) To expose them when they get it wrong, or are being hypocritical, preferably before they put policy into practice.
The alternative is to not take this opportunity to hold them to account. How would that serve the public?

the contributor doesn't come across very well , however I don't think its fair to say she is being transphobic ( she may well be ) but I don't think her position is enough to say that.
My 33 year old daughter is trans so your comment interests me. Can you tell me at what time (minute:second) the transphobic comment was made, please?
@CoachHartley Do you think that the interviewee makes her personal position clear in her reply at 28:23 or not. (My child began her transition at age 28, fully aware of the implications of her decision, so your input is appreciated in helping me form an opinion on the issue of "children and young people" 👍).
@@Govanmauler she has done some very selective cherry picking of data to build a false narrative around the use of puberty blockers. We have decades of evidence supporting the fact that they are safe, but she is right that not enough research has been done into trans health care. When you look at all the actual evidence it paints a really clear picture. The younger you are when you receive gender affirming care the better the outcomes. Gender affirming care has the lowest levels of regret, including the surgeries. Blocking or restricting access to gender affirming care causes nothing but pain, trauma and death. Trying to suggest another narrative is flat earth levels of ignorance/dishonesty.
