I have a (hopefully) interesting note to the lyrics. In the part "the call to arms went to the villages" original version does not use the regular Polish word for villages - "wsie" or "wioski", in this grammatical case "wsiach", or "wioskach". Instead we see "zaściankach". In the times of the old Commonwealth _zaścianek_ was a term for a special kind of a village, where the poor nobles lived. The kind who would farm their land themselves. This was quite common in some regions of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, where the nobility was much more numerous than in any other European country and was very economically stratified. Although legally, all nobles were equal.
