  • New M. Bison gameplay to breakdown today for Street Fighter 6. Capcom released their character guide, showcasing all of M. Bison's moves. We can really see how his fast forward movement speed and long-range attacks will control the ground; combined with his psycho mines, we'll have a pressure monster. M. Bison shouldn't have much issue with zoners either, and I was surprised to see that Shadow Rise has throw invincibility if you spend the extra bar. M. Bison releases on June 26th.

Trumpets hint M.Bison past as a mariachi before Psycho-Power corrupted him.

I noticed the psycho mines , i guess, have different properties, think im saying that correctly, when they explode in different situations from all the videos Ive watched. So:
    - Normal psycho mine explosion, just a basic pop up knockdown. Extremely hard to combo off of unless you were already in the act of attacking comboing off of the explosion, or positioned yourself to be able to drive rush into a button from midscreen.
    - explosion during a grounded combo just seems to be for extra damage and Oki.
    - explosion on an airborne opponent gives you more time to be able to connect a follow up attack (i could be wrong) probably more based off the recovery animation of your attacks and probably better to hit the opponent with your last active frames or juggle them up in the air ahead of time to time the explosion for when your move recovers and you can perform another action while the opponent is in a juggle state.
    - counter hit and punish counter explosions appear to juggle the opponent higher(???) or at least put them in a juggle state longer for you to be able to react and follow up with an attack.
In the first gameplay video we saw, the explosion cause the knock up in the middle of the OD knee press animation, causing the enemy to be airborne, and the last part of the OD knee press is a upward knee strike which launches the enemy, and when it hit the airborne opponent the launch properties were greater and the opponent flew higher then a standard OD knee press launch. I think these psycho mines will have a lot of situational combo routes and you will literally just have to be ready at all times to follow up if the interaction with the opponent wasnt forced or intentional.

The capcom creator's guidelines must have been updated to tell shills not to rag on the music anymore. Great overview Vesper! I look forward to consuming your future Bison content 🤩

Capcom definitely phoned it in when they named the “Backfist Combo”. All his other moves have such evocative, oppressive sounding names. Would it have killed them to just add “Psycho” to the move’s name??

I have always said that one of the essential key elements of a 'final boss' is THE MUSIC. Street Fighter 6 has got it right here. I say Top 3 with SFA3 Brave Or Grave and what I consider underrated - his story battle theme in Street Fighter V. czcams.com/video/gflB0MCyB1w/video.htmlsi=YPczBakiRfA1HUnM

So the rule of Bison always plus gonna be true,. specially dealing with the Psycho Mines that make some of his unsafe moves be safe.

That music sounds so generic, it's that tune you always hear when the guy at the back of the bus blast music too loud for their own good so everyone around them hear the generic beat.

Nah, I don't know, I think some of you are overdoing it with Bison's theme. It's OK, you guys are acting like it's on "This is True Love Making" level. Manon and Dee Jay's stage themes are much better

I don’t think the theme is good at all. If I’m not mistaken, these new themes were designed to be subtle and blend in the background so you can hear the commentator feature clearly, which CAPCOM thought everyone would use a lot more. No one does, and now the music fields strange and empty, because it was never intended to hit hard.
The jukebox update was a massive boon to this game, and I honestly think you can hear the difference in the intention between the SF6 soundtrack and those before it.

Thinking about playing bison for the first time. What are his wake up options and anti-airs?

  • @oOYourdadOo

They missed one thing. One iconic character design; his laugh. This aint the real Bison. His win outro should have him laughing maniacally almost as he rides off on the horse and his psycho power is visibly surging through his veins. That M. Bison smile and laugh are the most interesting and iconic aspects of the character because he’s also insanely powerful, lore wise, and it shows how much he enjoys his overwhelming dominance over you. The Dictator.

I think his amnesia and not having control over his power plays into his missing Colgate smile. It’s technically the real bison but he’s not all there.

    • @oOYourdadOo
      @oOYourdadOo Před 2 měsíci

Thats one thing about character traits like that; you may forget who you are on the outside, but on the inside you are who you are. Smiling and laughing because he lusts for power, and thirsts for chaos, wouldnt be something he simply forgets. Especially since he has the psycho power surging through he veins still. If maybe he didnt have his powers or their was a second power, like soul power, mixed in within his body causing the amnesia and confusion, that would make more sense. But if this IS M. Bison, he cant HELP but smile and laugh while fighting or exerting his dominance. He fucking loves having power too much. In every animation of the character previous to SF6 (or what we have saw from him in SF6), he is always laughing and grinning as he monologues, as he receives and dishes out punishment, as he seemingly dies over and over. Huge oversight on his personality if this is legit the real M. Bison and not a clone in some way.

Backfist Combo should just be called Psycho Backfists, Backfist Barrage, or Psycho Barrage. Psycho Mine should be called a Psycho Seed.
