Everyone’s been telling me I need to get an air purifier for my home.
I don’t see the point, all it does it sit there and collect dust.
Will the Clorox Large Room True HEPA Air Purifier be a breath of fresh air? Let’s find out!

Unfortunately, when it comes to air purifiers, there’s a whole lotta fakes, scams and companies making unrealistic claims about their products.
It makes sense - without proper air quality sensors like the one we reviewed last year, it’s very difficult to prove one of these things aren’t working properly.
So, what does the Clorox Large Room True HEPA Air Purifier have that other air purifiers don’t?
Small, sleek and unassuming, the entire unit only stands 20 inches tall with a base of 10 X 10 inches. Despite this, its rated to cover a large room of up to 1500 square feet!
All your controls and a PM2.5 digital display is on the top while the front of the purifier has an LED that displays a color-coded indication of the surrounding air quality.
Basically, green equals good, red to maroon equals Beijing smog.
The purification comes courtesy of a three-stage, 360-degree, HEPA filtration system. It’s made up of a pre filter, a true HEPA filter and carbon filter for all those unpleasant smells.
It’s able to capture up to 99.97% of all bacteria, viruses and impurities in the air as small as 0.1 microns in size.
And that’s not just some wild claim, The Clorox Large Room Air Purifier is CADR-rated for excellent air purification. CADR stands for Clean Air Delivery Rate. In general, this numerical value will show you exactly how much of the specific particles to be removed from the air.
You’re able to choose between four different fan speeds including an auto-mode that automatically adjusts based on the air quality.
It’s also whisper quiet, as low as -30Db on the softest setting meaning the Clorox Air Purifier runs quieter than your refrigerator.
The supplied HEPA filter is good for between 6-12 months depending on usage, and can be easily swapped out with a fresh one from the base of the purifier.
So, in order to really let you know what we like and dislike about the air purifier from Clorox, we gotta compare it to another purifier we covered last year from the guys at Bissell.
So, what does the Clorox Large Room True HEPA Air Purifier have going for it?
To be certified HEPA compliant, your filter has to be able to capture particles as small as 0.3 microns. That’s the exact rating the Bissell purifier went for. This Clorox purifier comes in at 0.1 making it much better in removing fine particles.
Both purifiers are quiet, but the Bissell does come in at -27dB, slightly softer than the Clorox model.
The Clorox really stands out in its room coverage, enough for a large room up to 1500 square feet. Then you’ve got the Bissell which tops out at 100 square feet.

I just bought one. It is running on AUTO. As soon as I light a cigarette, the fan ramps up and the air quality monitor changes to reflect lesser air quality. 👍 excellent.

Have had this for about 8 months now and absolutely love it! Still haven't had to change filter but we do vacumn it monthly.

I have three, one big one in the dining/kitchen room. and one per bedroom. I was surprised when I changed the filter all dust and particles the caught. Even I have a wholehouse air filter MERV 16
Can this be plugged into an extension cord, or does it have to go directly into an outlet
it is generally recommended to plug the air purifier directly into a wall outlet. This ensures that the device receives a consistent and adequate power supply, reducing the risk of electrical issues or damage to the unit.
However, if you must use an extension cord, make sure it is a heavy-duty, grounded extension cord rated for the appropriate amperage and wattage that matches or exceeds the power requirements of the air purifier. Using a lower-rated or non-grounded extension cord can be hazardous and may cause electrical problems, including overheating or even fire.
For safety and optimal performance, it is best to follow the manufacturer's guidelines and plug the air purifier directly into a wall outlet whenever possible.

I'm an animal lover plus I'm disabled an no longer work so I'm home with them 24/7. I'm constantly vacuuming . I do what I can including using no rugs at all. This sounds amazing and it will be a really nice piece of equipment that can improve the air. And you gave 6 out of 5 stars....wow! This winner will be very lucky. Good review but it feels biased. There are better ones and the same price point as this one. Also the sensor doesn't really pick up all particles and always reads low PM2.5 even if air is not clean.
