Preussische P8 38 2267 - Prussian Steam Loco - Museum Bochum Dahlhausen

Since summer 2023, the vintage 4-6-0 steam locomotive 38 2267 is operational again. Built in 1918 by Henschel and based at the roundhouse in Bochum-Dahlhausen, it makes frequent main line excursions on the freight-only Ruhrtalbahn, which is also pictured in this short film. From 1906 to 1939 a total of 3948 P8 were built at factories around Germany and Romania, where 230 were manufactured under license from 1932 to 1939 by Malaxa, thus making this the most numerous type of passenger (not freight) steam locomotive ever built!
