Very nice review! I was driving myself crazy trying to complete the vertical calibration. The book appears to instruct you to turn the drone in a steering wheel motion. Here you show that vertical calibration is a forward rolling motion. I am thankful that people like you know exactly how to make quality instructional videos where you detail everything and can be heard perfectly. Thank you! First off thanks for a super useful and informative video. Second of all, forgive my lack of knowledge on basic things. I'm considering this as my first ever drone purchase after a few hours research. Is the gimble swappable? I see that the camera is removable. Does this mean I could swap it out for a higher quality camera like a GoPro or similar? Or is the removal purely to help reduce weight/increase flight time.
The camera can be removed but it is not compatible with other brands of cameras.
great video. how did you manually land and stop the motor from the controller @16:18 (not using the return home button)?
just bring it down and hold the stick down to disarm.

Awesome review and flights my friend. This one aint too shabby for a brushed motor GPS bird, camera looks pretty good too. Yes, it may be that it is interference from near by objects especially phones or metal.
Try the rotation away from those object outdoors :)

I know! The instructions make it appear as if the Vertical calibration is done by moving the drone in a steering wheel motion. Luckily this video was well done and very informative. The vertical calibration is actually done the way it was demonstrated here. There are a few other instructions in the book that are not clear as well.
What is the maximum wind speed this drone can handle?
Is it meant to rise in altitude before coming home because I was using it in an area with trees above and when I clicked return to home it crashed into the trees
Yes, it will rise up if you are lower than the designated altitude and if you are above the designated altitude it will not :) 🍺

GIL SIMON you do it through a computer, or even a digital camera. Found out that this drone does not support an SD card higher than 32mb. Other than that, love this drone!
I just got this drone and love, it... however can the setting be changed to auto return home at a different battery percentage? like 15% instead of 20%? i can't find anything like that in the settings. good little drone. a joy to fly.
I think it is a preset parameter for it to return at 20% :)

I think it is set to 20 meters....you can change it in the app I do believe.

make sure you do the calibration correctly.
If not calibrated...it will be difficult to fly....make sure the blue light is solid on the remote... sometimes it might take a long time. To get the solid light. But I fly mine in my neighborhood...love recording cars from above....on July 4 it was fun to fly...until they started trying to hit it... they never hit iT I simply went higher....I call mine the trollicopter.

It is a pain because it is 5g wifi but it will increase range.
Great review! I just received this drone as a gift and so far I am impressed. One thing I noticed was that when I record video using the app to capture the video to my phone, it only records in 720p. Does it record the higher quality 1080p when you record to an SD card using the remote?

Go with something that has brushless motors to fight the wind but try not to fly in windy conditions.
will it work with FPV goggles? which do you recommend?
FPV goggles are used with 5.8ghz video transmitter which these toy grades do not have.
I notice you are operating the drone with the remote and no cell phone. Can this drone be operated with out the need for a cell phone or ipad?
If so, are all the functions available with out the cell phone?
You can fly without a phone but there's some features only the phone app has that the remote does not have.

If you want to make movie videos, you need to spend a whole lot more money. These are toy grade drones for practice.

I love this drone....way better than my Walmart Vivitar...the D58 returns home when low on power... my Vivitar just falls to the ground in 2 minutes of flying...shuts off and falls.. Walmart drones are extremely stupid.

What do you do when it never gives the second beep after the second rotation? Mine just continues to search for GPS and says “Weak GPS Signal” I’ve tried this several times in my penthouse clear view of sky 30 stories high as well as the beach and still nothing no matter inside or out yet the phone shoes the camera on and exactly on the map where the GPS is. Yet the drone just continues to flash lights slowly around in a clockwise rotation green in from red in back. Never ever connect what do you do to fix this? Please help thank you.

RC Escape No nothing at all I’ve tried it inside outside really high up as well as different states and now at the beach house in California and still not working at all. Literally I can see the camera live, the beeps exactly like your video except the last one which you say is the one that tells you the GPS has been acquired and it never ever connects no matter what I do. Any suggestions? Or hard rest! The company has never emailed me back and have Been no help at all.

Yes the phantom is a profesional drone and this.... although being great and budget does not compare but would recomend this. Also the videos and pictures are ok on this pictures are better tho ; )

There is some kind of flashing going on on the flight test portion of the video. I'm not sure what caused it. It is not there on the edit but got in there somewhere in the editing process. 🤷♂️

Cameras are most always bad on these toy grade ones. Get something with EIS.
