Oil Drum Barbeque

- I made this barbecue around about January this year (2017) and a few of the files went AWOL along the way so my motivation to get the clip completed kind of went out the window, along with selling our house, buying another and moving in the meantime. Anyway it has been a long time since I posted anything so I figured I would just smash together what I have and here is the result. If I were to build it again (which I may well do as I have sold this one on) I would go about it quite differently, but that is a story for another day! anyways, I hope you enjoy.

I really like how you designed your grill. You gave me some great ideas for my future smoker. Have a Merry Christmas
Very nice! Thanks for sharing. Cheers
Anyone wanting to build one - only one quarter of the barrel needs to be cut for the pit-door,and still gives you room to add all your braces.I made a hinged clean out door which also works as a vent door on mine and added a 6 inch wide rack in the top back 1/4 of the barrel which is great for link sausage. Nice job on the pit - just needed easy ash clean-out door and smaller pit door which is easier to work with and leaves the pit more stable.
Very nice and great job
really looks good!!!
Nice work mate.
Awesome work I need one of those just don't have the tools to make it
You 've made a hell of a job but you sure picked the hard way
you work so hard for that sausage.. Good job.
Another nice drum grill is Canuck 45 Gallon Barrel Charcoal BBQ.
Ingenius!!
Awesome
Good idea
Looks good man.
Thanks!
What type of paint did you use which can stand high temperature?
Thanks for sharing, however i need a follow up video of how you would clean in, disposing the ash and all
This is the "oil-drum syndrome".... Please...make the oil-drum easily removable (And recycle...folks..ok.) and make a frame that lasts a lifetime.
Ashes in oil drums is the death-knell for them:
They get damp. They die.
Awww!
(Unlike my women) (Thanks Al Bundy....)
Muy buen trabajo amigo, saludos de misiones Argentina

Por fin un Argentino positivo
Why is the vent put at the top of smoker? If it is put at the bottom of smoker the cooler smoke at the bottom would escape and the hotter smoke at the top will stay. Wouldnt it be energy efficient that way?
Great job - I assume the pipe through the bottom is to improve airflow? If so any regulator on it?
Yeah that was the idea. It didn't have any regulator but it prevented the embers from building up too much so I ended up blocking it off
how much did it cost to make it with all of the supplies
I don't really remember, but the drum was free, the steel for the legs came from the scrap bin at a structural reinforcing company for free too. There was 3 lengths of 6mm round and 2 lengths of 25x3mm angle if I remember correctly. I'm pretty sure it came in under $100nz.
:looks good mate. What paint did you use to treat it please?
It was just regular high heat bbq paint. I don't remember the brand sorry. Should be pretty easy to find at a hardware store
Damn that thing came out really nice
Glad you liked it. I ended up selling it when moving house, really need to build another one
TheEnginesmith u should do a t-smoker next I think those are cool .
And why a iron long rod gone through middle in bottom part??

Air supply for coals to burn..notice it has little holes in it
A nice powerplasma cutter would have made all that cutting short work.
Muito cuidado abrir tambor com esmilhadeira pode explodir
why you don´t use welding gloves?
'Cause I'm hard as nails mate
I do the same!
'Cos he is not g@y....or a stupid person....
Seriously...Mig generates very little local heat... so quick...in & out.
(As my ex-wife used to say.)(Bless her.)
Why don't you mind your own damn business?
Is this air tight ??
WHAT!
Belin ma tutto sto casino per 4 würstel?? 😁 dai scherzo sei stato bravissimo
Лайк 👍👍👍👍👍
Oukej
try
mucho kilombo y lo peor no muestra medidas
when humans become extinct, this BBQ will still remain on earth somewhere for the next beings to use.
