I know this is a channel aimed towards speedruns, but what I would like to see is a Deathworld run without using any fish. Right now, I think fish is the thing that goes against the core design of the game - automate as much as you can. I am not a top level player, but I have not found a way to play Deathworld without personally clearing the nests eating a huge amounts of fish. And I don't find this very Factorio-y, if you know what I mean. It's very difficult to clear nests in Deathworld scenario in a Factorio way - craft some great technology pieces and put them down so they do the work for you. It's mostly about the Gun Turrets having short range compared to the Worms, and the endless stream of critters coming out of the nest that eats into your ammo supply. So, a Deathworld No Fish scenario is something that I would love to see ... and until then, I'm convinced that fish just break the design of the game.

One thing I can’t figure out is, in the beginning, why do you decide to go with a chain of boilers with 1 steam engine instead of less boilers with 2 steam engines working up to the 20 boilers and 40 steam engines? I’ve watched your runs from about a year ago and you added two engines per boiler in the beginning. I also watched anti’s latest solo default setting speed run and in the beginning he still did two engines per boiler. What made you want to change this?
I also want to add that I thought it was to save resources in the beginning but it can’t be that.. so I’m thinking it might have something to do with steam distribution and/or coal consumption
@@CollegeKidification my thought is time to construct... dealing with the pipes is extra time, and early on, there's more pressure on getting back and forth between different barely-sustained processes that need lots of attention. Later, things are running unattended, so a bit more time can be taken to do the full build. That's just my guess, though.
I'm assuming you are talking about initial power setup. If you are handfeeding the fuel, 1 boiler, 1 steam engine setup lasts twice as long before needing refueling. Each boiler can keep 1 stack of fuel, so using 4 boiler, 4 steam engines allows you to put twice as much fuel in, compared to 2 boiler, 4 steam engine setup. Hope that explains it.

These speedruns should be in their own category, because the chat on the stream are actively assisting him by pointing out mistakes and such. It's unfair to speedrunners who have a smaller viewer/chat base. I've been saying this for years now.
