From your test, seems like a very impressive accurate round.
That's a really good hunting rifle definitely think us hillbillies from Kentucky and Tennessee needs 1 where we hunt the mountains and deer always on top of the ridges and we just hope if a deer does run it goes down hill on the same side of the mountain we parked on

Pretty sweet rig perfect back country rifle out to about 500 yards imo but I can't forget the 300prc with 6mil at 1000 👍👍
Prc is a beast, but weighs twice as much. Being so lightweight is where the 338 rpm shines

Didn't realize till the end that was an 18" bbl. And 185gr bullets to boot? Not even the most optimal setup for a 338 @1000 yds but you made it look almost automatic. Great shooting WTW.

@@WHOTEEWHO I would love to put a 338 something in my barn but the cost and availability of 338 ammo is crazy now. Cant even find 338 Win and when you do its $100 a box. This 338 RPM makes so much sense. Would love to see it taken up by other rifle and ammo manufacturers to bring the cost of admission down.

One beast of a cartridge
So, back at k&m again! It held a nice waterline at 1000yds, especially for factory ammo... my 6.5-06 is 6.3 mils at 1000yds with a 140gr jlk

Thats one great looking and shooting rifle. Is it your personal rifle. Only bad thing about a rifle like that most can't afford the rifle or the expensive ammo to shoot it.

Awesome round and video, but all the hype around the 338 RPM makes me feel like someone really needs help the 338 RCM (Ruger Compact Magnum) get some more love before its gone.
I feel like they're literally designed to do pretty much the exact same thing (338 Win Mag performance in a lighter rifle package) albeit in slightly different ways, but you don't have to pay the arm, leg and kidney required for Weatherby ammo and rifles.
I've been hunting with a custom titanum and carbon rifle, in a magnesium chassis, chamgered in 338RCM up here in Alaska. I use it suppressed and it's great.
338rpm is much more convenient as it uses a standard bolt face meaning a simple rebarrel from a 30-06,270 etc is all you would need to do.
@lanehart6525 338RCM uses the same .540 magnum bolt face as every 375 H&H/Ruger based magnum cartridge (e.g. 300 Win Mag, 7 Rem Mag, and 6.5/7/300 PRC), so it's hardly an uncommon bolt face. Thanks to 6.5 PRC, 6.8 Western and 300WSM, it's also not a particularly uncommon bolt face in short actions.
Considering the overwhelming popularity of 6.5 PRC these days, a rebarrel conversion would theoretically be very simple for 338RCM. The only tricky part might be finding brass, but you could probably make some fairly easily with 6.5 PRC brass if it became a real issue.
@@gpearce11I didn’t say it was an uncommon bolt face, but a simple barrel swap on what is arguably the more common bolt face to give 338 magnum performance and in certain actions an additional round in the magazine is a big benefit. I used to own a 338rcm and loved it for the same reasons I love the rpm but I feel like the rpm is the more useful of the two because of that. And I currently have a .270 model 70 being rechambered to it and it’s going to hold 4+1 which is exceptional firepower for a magnum

This a good coyote and deer caliber? Right now I'm thinking about picking up a .243, but I wouldn't mind a bigger bullet.
270 or 6.5CM would be next size up. But I found some Federal 110gr VMax Varmint loads for my 308. Afterwards I've seen some solid videos on the accuracy of that light for caliber round.
It just seriously snowed today so yotes look out this weekend. 👍🤠
More like Elk and Moose caliber, .243 would be perfect for dual use coyote and small deer 55-80 grain varmint and 90-100 grain deer bullets are available.

Wouldn't make it to a mile with this setup. Would require a different rail and or a scope with a lot more dial. Was about maxes out at 1,000
