This is honestly one of the best fights in all of Dragon Ball. It’s the first fight where Goku is truly fighting someone because it’s personal.
The first final showdown between Goku and a major villain! Been waiting forever for this!
We all loved Blue Launch in the beginning, but Blonde Launch is definitely the favourite towards the end.

This was the episode that introduced screaming for a long time as a way to power up
I swear he "intentionally" forgot since she is so much like the narrative changes he makes in DBZ. The sweet, innocent, naive person with a heart of gold can changing into a blonde powerhouse ready to fight anyone. Sounds a lot like the Saiyan to Super Saiyan transformation... well, before the Super Saiyan became just an endless stacking of "forms" on top of the last one.

This is a week, maybe a month, after the martial arts tournament where Tien and Goku were basically equals, by the way. Tien's shock at Goku's increase in power and ability is understandable.

They weren't space aliens at this point. DB is more based on mystical/mythical influences than the later DBZ with space alien warrior narrative.

He said it in this as well. He sais that using his full power would cost him part of his lifespan. And then he powered up to full power.

It’s a shame that the Dragon Ball series is basically just the Goku show. One Piece and many other shows with ensemble casts give the other characters a chance to shine; in most boss fights on One Piece there are several bosses and everyone gets someone who scales with them to fight. Why was that never replicated here?
The guy on tv at the beginning sound like a wrestling commentator. Imagine being beat up by a 85lbs 4 foot high 12 years old kid. How humiliating lol. It would be so epic to see this in real life like in the olympics, a 12 years old small kid beating the hell up of every boxer/wrestler in the olympics by far. When piccolo powers up goku should hit him with a full blast kamehama.
Goku's 15 at this point of the story, also a bit taller than when he actually was 12.
