We received a parcel from a person asking for help. he is a farmer who lives on the outskirts of Japan. he lives in a remote area. he has an old shibaura generator. but after a flood, his machine was soaked in water for several days. now he sends it to us and asks for help. I love the effort you put back into your restoration. A few tools I suggest is a 1/4” and a 3/8” torque wrench for your smaller project. Torque specs are very very important on engines so you don’t crush the gaskets!

torque specs will make you to the next level from average mechanics that just tighten it
I can tell you that these engines don't care. Just by feel is fine. It aint a high end 2 stroke.
Should be more worried about the spray painted bearings and seals.

Видно, що інженери думали, щоб створити такий компактний генератор. Багато цікавих технічних рішень. Стартер на генераторі, а не на моторі, поплавок карбюратора вільно плаває. І хлопці все це показали! Незрозуміло призначення простору під кришкою, де заливали мастило в регулятор оборотів. Єдине, що мабуть не варто було резинові ніжки фарбувати та алюмінієві деталі. Молодці.

Not a bit of primer in site, painted the bearings as well some people have funny ideas os what a restoration is this is more like a clean up and slap some paint on.

The one things about this guy when he restores 2 stroke engines like chainsaws if you look in one of his last videos he restored a chainsaw and didn’t mix the fuel with oil so the chainsaw he restored a long time. Ago prob doesn’t run anymore
