In this video I am restoring a very old fan. I bought this fan from a junk shop. When I bought this fan from the shopkeeper, the shopkeeper asked me what are you going to do with this fan, so I did not say anything to the shopkeeper and took the fan.
Now I start to restore this fan. The condition of the fan is very bad. It has a lot of rust and has a weird oil on it. And the some parts of the fan are broken.I started the fan restoration by disassembling all the fan parts.After disassembling all the parts of the fan I did the electrolysis process to remove rust from the rusted parts of the fan.There was a lot of grease and oil on the fan motor and the parts inside the motor. I washed the motor parts with Kerosene Oil to remove this grease and oil. After cleaning the parts of the fan, repaired the parts of the fan that were broken and painted the parts that were to be painted. After restoring all parts of the fan, assembled all the parts of the fan.

Look at that repairability, removable bearings, oiling port... Beautiful.
After watching this, I hope you have enough sense to wear a two cartridge respirator. We only have one pair of lungs and we should protect them from solvents and paints etc.

Awesome resto man! This reminds me of the time Rick's son on American Restoration restored a very similar fan. Well he did an awesome job and it was a gift for his Dad. When Rick turned it on however, the blades were accidentally put in backwards and blew all of his paperwork off his desk.

Really amazing to watch and enjoy this. So much attention to detail. Not one bit of plastic anywhere of course! I was surprised to see that it was made in Lahore, Pakistan. Watching it being rebuilt was fascinating, exciting and far better than going to the cinema to watch a movie there! The tension which built up (will it work?!!) was more thrilling than anything on TV! My only regrets? a) I wish I had the patience and knowledge to do what this person just did and b) I threw something very similar into the rubbish-bin about 7 years ago after I'd cleared out an old aunt's house. Thanks for making this!

Beautiful restoration you are quite skilled those are the fans i remember as a kid all metal blades heavy duty motor they made a sound you cannot duplicate i wish i owned one along with the box fan restored like the table top fan you did just amazingly beautiful im jealous ive slept with a fan everyday and night for over sixty years thanks for the video i totally enjoyed it brought back many great memories

This fan was Made in Pakistan, 70 years ago. Amazing. I wish our country Pakistan had good Politicians, it could have become a 1st World Rich country by now. So much talent is being wasted.
things were quality back then... although not efficient. Good restoration without any special tools, chemical and additives

This just goes to show you how bad fans have gotten overtime like look at the old vs new, the old will last years it made out of metal won't break, and the newer fans at plastic can barely old together and will just literally self destruct overtime. Good job repairing this stleat it will last another 50 years probably
I have one from the 50s. I doubt it was expensive then. I've put a new cord on it, and, so long as I grease the insides from time to time, it kicks the butts of any modern fan.

I wish I could say “amazing job!”, but I can’t because my inner perfectionist doesn’t like the unevenness left on the surface of the fan that either needed to be polished better or filled in with something; I also didn't like the color combination. Such retro fans look better either in a combination of black with bronze/brass/gold, or at least in more saturated colors.🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️

Well done Ayaz, your work is commendable and you are technically sound. I would like to point out a couple things, like you didn't show the fan oscillating, I wonder if that function worked. Also, to get to international standards, you need a lot of improvement in finishing the outside of the gadget. I recommend you to watch two channels that I regularly follow, Mr. Patina and Veradona. I am sure you will find my critic to your improvement. I live in Texas USA and I hope and pray that you become one of the best restorer in the world, Ameen!

Very good effort! Congratulations! you will get better with time. You made a major mistake! You didn't put a ground, and because the fan is metal it is dangerous not to have a ground! In metal appliances we always put a ground.
