In the Sayers' film, Paul Venis plays the infamous Lee Duffy, an ex-boxer and bouncer from South Bank, Middlesbrough. Prior to his violent death in 1991, Lee had survived three attempts on his life. Heavily involved in drugs and violence, Paul's life parallels Lee's until Paul emerges as a pro fighter: Unbeaten K1 world champion, British, European and world champion (31 Fights, 31 Wins, 30 KO's).

There is clearly an 'Illusory truth effect' emerging that Duffy was some Big Time Gangster or something, the reality being he was an unhinged bully who would intimidate anyone who crossed his path for no reason at all, his catchphrase being “Dyno who I am!!!” I assure you there was an air of relief in Middlesbrough when he drew his last breath.
Don’t glorify an absolute bully and dreadful person!
I really enjoyed Paul's story telling & honest talking. The very common life scenario, from being bullied to a good man who can look after himself. I respect that, for sure.
You obviously never met Duffy, as you wouldn't be calling 'pond-life' a 'good man' FFS. He deserved what he got. Pure SCUM!
Paul Venis is a guy who has slowly grown on me the more I listen to him, Paul grew up among rough people in a rough poverty stricken town and could have went much the same kind of way as Lee but sadly for Lee he didnt have the chance to turn his life around which isn't easy with the background of these guys so respect to Paul for managing to change his life

He’s a great guy who has completely turned his life around, and takes full responsibility for his past actions. A fantastic K1 fighter, who raises money for charity. In recovery, and a great example of what change is.

it actually happened in princess Alice pub southbank. I was round the corner in barnicle bills pub He was bullying the person I'm not mentioning it he was pissed off with him so he went in princess Alice doorway threw sone petrol on him small amount
Tried lighting a match. Lee stood up and this guy was shaking thst much ,he couldn't even light the match ,
Lee just belted him laughed threw him out of pub.
Then Went back in finished his pint off with his mates , i inew Lee from him being 9 year old before he went into borstal , and knew the family , brother and sister no one mentions his sister

Lee was an ordinary lad from Southbank who was bullied and became a bully but like most people he had a good side and a bad side but he wasn't a gangster and if he had a business brain he wouldn't have ended up running an empire instead of being used by others to do their dirty work
