It's funny because rick pretty much turns into Shane after he dies, he becomes a intense man telling everyone to stop being soft and the right decision is the one that keeps you alive so if you have to kill people then do it, I feel like rick was influenced by Shane.

Really like the parallel between Shane's and Rick's speech about surviving. Shane was ahead of his time. Would've loved to have seen Shane alive this entire time only to get Lucille'd. That would've heartbreaking when you think about it. We would've come this far with Shane, seen the boiling point between Rick and Shane only for both men to set aside their differences and go back to being friends.

Shane was right about needing to be tough and ruthless to survive, but he was very selfish and evil. I think over the series Rick gets tough and ruthless like Shane, but not selfish and evil like Shane.

It's a real shame Shanes gone. I do really miss him as I realise he is a fav character of mine tbh. He was just Twisted by Lori and it's a shame. I blame Lori for Shanes fate as she fucked things up between both Rick and Shane and I do believe his skills would have been very useful for the group if he had survived past season 2, it would have been nice aswell as he would of lived in the TV show, even tho he does play a bigger role in the TV to comics hos fate is still the same unfortunately :(

If Rick didn't kill Shane the rest of the show would be very different, because the herd wouldn't have heard the shot and would have passed the farm. There would have never been no prison, Governor, Claimers, Terminus, Alexander, Hilltop, Saviors, Kingdom, Oceanside, Whispers, or Lydia. So, I wonder how this show would be from seasons 3-10, if they were still on the farm.
Shane was not even the bad guy. I new it and now Rick knows it. Rick is practically Shane. Shane was just more advanced than Rick he saw more but nobody would listen to him but now they all listen to Rick.

With the governor gone Merle would still be alive, of course he would have joined back with his brother and the "Atlanta group" . The group would be much stronger. Many more people would still be alive such us Andrea and Hershel. But some others would still die such us Bob, Tyreese and Beth. The group would get to Alexandria and eventually they would meet Negan ! And thats where Merle would face his end just like in this video !

Shane was what the world needed but he just moved too fast and everybody saw that as a threat. If he kept his head clear with all the jealousy stuff he would have been a great asset to the world of TWD. On the flip side, Rick killing him is what was needed to change Rick into the man he needed to be.

If this happened a lot would change
The moment the grouo gets to the prison, Shane would kill Thomas and the other problematic prisoner. I think Shane would see that Oscar and Axel are not bad people and he would let them live. That means that Lori and T-Dog survive which also means that Tyreese’s group also stays in the prison with the group
In Arrow to the door post, Shane would kill the Governor extremely quickly, no way the Governor would draw his gun faster than someone like Shane. This means that Daryl would have to kill Martinez, so Woodbury would be leaderless. Merle would stay with the group in my opinion. Shane would eventually learn to see eye to eye with Rick and for Daryl’s sake he would let him stay.
I think Woodbury would either be overrun by walkers or just leave the community because they can’t defend it anymore. Another possibility is that Rick’s group brings the woodbury inhabitants to the prison to become part of the group
I think the prison would become like a fortress where many people live even after the illness of season 4 which would still happen in this scenario.
I honestly don’t see the group having to leave the prison, they would just happily continue living on in the prison. I could see Shane and Andrea getting together and having a baby and other survivors would start families as well. I also see Abraham, Rosita and Eugene finding the prison and staying there
This means Alexandria would be overrun by walkers eventually, The Kingdom and the Hilltop would be under Negan’s boot and the Commonwealth would still be under Pamela’s and Lance command. I think the Saviors would run into the Whisperers and kill them all even if they suffer some loses, but the Saviors get killed off by the Commonwealth eventually and they would eventually have the Kingdom and the Hilltop under their boot. Maybe their could be a coup in the Commonwealth, but I have my doubts.
Anyways, everyone that died after the prison would still be alive in this story, the prison would be a safe heaven for a very long time and it would grow in numbers of survivors. I would even say that Enid escapes before Alexandria is overrun and she stumbles into the prison eventually and she stays there
Maybe the CRM finds out about the Prison at some point? Idk, maybe they have a happy ending and that’s it
