    just tried it on the range today - exaggerating the trail wrist extended position, and I hit the ball so easily - amazing compression! barely feeling the ball while hitting! such a great tip.

    I’ve watched hundreds of videos and still couldn’t figure out the inside out swing; and then in this video, where inside out is only a smart part of the lesson what you said was so simple and genius it clicked!! On downswing just need to keep hands in front of clubhead for as long as possible. Lol that’s it I can’t believe it but I can feel it now

    Hoping this will help me I have a habit of hitting behind the ball with my irons. My misses are usually a hook/pull. Cheers

      @@kerrodgraygolf It went really well using your wrist tips I hit the ball crisp, still had a slight draw on everything tho. I also concentrated on taking a divot in front of the ball instead of just trying to flick the grass, Thank you

    What's the difference between this and how your hands work through the strike with a driver
    Thanks

      Drive you hit up on the ball, irons you hit down.

    Whenever I hear about having the hands forward at address, depending on the offset of the clubhead, when you sit the club on the ground with the face square, your hands are already in front of the ball where they should be & there's no need to move them farther forward. I don't use clubs for better players so I don't know if they have much offset that would create this.

    • @kerrodgraygolf
      @kerrodgraygolf  Pƙed měsĂcem

      Make sure you use video or a mirror to double check your hands are actually in front. Often the 'feel' isn't 'real'.

    OMG this is idiotic. Attempting to performing positions in succession and believing it will teach you how to swing a club properly is absolutely ridiculous.

    • @mikerodrick2430
      @mikerodrick2430 Pƙed měsĂcem

      Obviously, it has to be taught in positions for demonstration purposes. If they did it full speed without showing the positions, how could you possibly see it?

    • @kerrodgraygolf
      @kerrodgraygolf  Pƙed měsĂcem

      This is just a simple way to exaggerate the feeling of 1 part of the swing.

    • @noonespecial8891
      @noonespecial8891 Pƙed měsĂcem

      @@kerrodgraygolf This approach to teaching golf is what's wrong with golf instruction. Simply mimicking a position will not teach a person how or why they need to get into that position. It's backward thinking. The position itself is not how or what creates a good swing but a result and indication that the player is intending to do the right thing. It's like saying if you can get your arm to torque like a MLB pitcher does, you can be an MLB pitcher too. It's not the torque of the arm that is the key factor it's everything else that created the torque of the arm and without knowing that and attempting to simply torque the arm is futile.

      This is good teaching. They are Teaching feels that exaggerate the direction the player needs to be taking their swing. Weight and hands forward, not releasing too early. A player simply cannot hold the exaggerated paintbrush position through the strike, because the weight and speed of the club will compel release. The exaggeration helps make a much smaller change.
