I don’t cook, I don’t have any kids, I don’t work out, and I’m not religious. But I’m a huge fan of your channel. Love you, Christine. 💕
I keep coming back to this channel as it feels like a judgement free zone...laughed at your comment sodasiren 😂
I don't cook well and I don't work out and most of my kids are grown and out of my house , I have. One 17 year old child left and a weekend granddaughter visit . I love her channel though. She's so real and down to earth and I love her sarcasm .
@@riasingh I agree. She doesn't seem to judge any of us if we can't afford what she can . I love her sense if humor too.
I think people don't realize how dense food can be when you're cooking whole food from scratch. Big difference.
I never thought of it that way but it's so true, pre-made stuff never seems to fill me up!
@@lalaprofesh So true!
Absolutely!!!! It’s filled with real food rather than the fake stuff POSING as food!!!
I call it "food-like" substances.
We do a combo of fresh & convenience. My husband does the cooking, so I figure that’s a good trade off. We always have a salad and / or a cooked vegetable with our meal. Our main dish is usually a protein with other ingredients. We have meatloaf, soups, lots of chicken dishes, occasionally a non meat dinner, like homemade Mac & Cheese. When we take a meal to a family member or a friend, the Mac & Cheese is our go to. Great meals Christine!!
That's because people have no clue what a serving size is! I was shocked myself to realize how many servings I was eating. We in the US eat way too much! 93lb loss eating healthy foods in proper proportions. Still a long way to go, but I'll get there.
C Bolton you're doing great! Best of luck to you!
Same here! I can started tracking my food and realized my portions have been incorrect most of my adulthood.
This is amazing! We have stepped off keto and decided to do portion control and watch what we eat instead of cutting whole food groups out.. here’s to the next 30 days!
@@savanahhumphries9257 thanks so much!
@@LaadeeV I know! Me too!
I swear your movie snippets are golden😂
I agree!!!! I loved them and they had me cracking up!!!!!
Disney & Coffee 😁yes! “Nobody lives forever” glad I’m not the only one that quotes THE EMPERORS NEW GROOVE🙃
I just wanted to say thank you so much for your videos!! I've never been good at grocery shopping. I always spend $50 for one person for one week. This last week, I used your tips and I saved $20 on groceries, which was 33% off my order!! So now I have 2 weeks worth of groceries for only $40. ❤
Christine: we make the same recipe but I don’t know why hers is better
Also Christine: she makes her in a crockpot but I make mine on the stove
Hahahahaha!!!
I was just gonna say!!
I noticed that giant difference too. Hilarious.
Hey there and Hi fellow Kerr 👋🏻😆
I was thinking that too…that’s exactly why. 😂
Not only are you organized with meals for your family, but dinner & cookies for a friend. SO LOVELY!
You're such a kind person. ❤️
I dont live in the US, but I do really love watching grocery and meals on a budget. Weird as is sounds but its my dream to do groceries there. 😊
Same girl, I live in Argentina and we don't eat nearly any food from her videos but still love them!! I also dream to just walk in a walmart there lol
I don't know where you live but you have to understand that these cheap prices mean garbage food. Like, I literally feed my dogs better.
I live in los Los Angeles and im blessed to live in the US. I also go to whole foods not walmart to buy food lol.
Everything tastes better when your Mum makes it! :) I think it is a universal law or something.
That's certainly the case with my mother-in-law. I usually hate mushrooms (it's a texture thing), but I clean my plate whenever she makes them. She also made this magical sweet potato dish several years ago that I still dream about.
Jenni Bell absolutely!
It's magic. ❤
Not my momma on Christmas Eve she made ham and it was not done all the way I'm like mom I need to get u a meat thermometer for real. 😂😁
It's the combination of nostalgia and not having to cook
chickpea curry! saute an onion add two cans chickpeas some garlic and a couple of teaspoons curry powder a can of coconut milk let simmer while you make rice. Hit it with some sriricha and garnish with cilantro if you have it. BOOM!
Sounds great. Love curry
Sarah S
If you saute the onions and some garlic with a little oil, then add the dry curry powder and a bit of chillie flakes when half way done. That will bring much flavor in those spices out, keep stirring for a bit, 2 to 3 minutes on low. If it gets a little brown that is just fine. That is how we do it.
Now add all wet ingredients as usual. Notice how aromatic and tasty it will be.
This one's going in my book!!!
One of my favorite meals! I like to add ginger, diced tomatoes and chopped spinach too! So good!
Yes!! Also if you have fish sauce (and you're not vegetarian or vegan, obviously) it really helps with that umami flavor for the curry. I lovvvvvve me some curry! Especially the kind with the coconut milk ☺️
I made your crusty bread and put in one sprig of fresh rosemary (chopped) and served it with a tomato based soup. It was delicious! Thanks for the recipe!
Don't take it personally a lot of people don't understand what an actual serving size of food is those recipes look super easy Frugal and delicious I want to try that nothing soup
Greetings from a fellow Texan 👋🏻
Last night I made “what-we-have soup.” 😆 Potatoes, sweet potatoes, venison meatballs, and I dropped in some dumplings.
Thank you for the ideas! I so often get in a food rut.
I love chorizo too!!
I made "what we have soup" last night too. Mine was chicken thighs, potatoes, celery, carrots, garlic, onions, spinach, peas and corn. I also had blended some oats into oat flour for muffins earlier and had about 1/4 cup left so I threw that in there to thicken it up a bit. It's kind of a cross between a soup and a stew. I got a dinner, leftovers for lunch, and a big container for the deep freeze out of it.
Amanda Burger that sounds so good!! It was perfect soup weather last night where we live. I’ll have to remember to try spinach in soup some time! I love it with my scrambled eggs in the morning but I’m always looking for more ways to use it before it goes bad lol.
@@Ethel007 spinach turnovers , ricotta and spinach quiche, spinach ground meat and rice stew ....
This is my favorite thing to do, it’s east & just about always turns out good. + it’s an easy way for me to use up the last bits of something before it goes bad.
Sarah Hurley I call it stone soup, after the story by the same name. Sometimes at work after thanksgiving meal, we used to all being a veggie and one lady would take the leftover turkey and make soup with everyone’s veggie offerings. It was always delicious! I made a vegetable soup earlier this week just with beef and whatever veggies I had in the freezer, fridge, and pantry. It made a lot and was tasty. I put the rest in the freezer for next week.
I really have enjoyed finding your channel.. but I just have to comment on how great it is to see your kids so cooperative with you. I love seeing your daughter smiling and fun such a contrast to teens today that are pouty and grumpy.. love watching how you all interact..
"Bookmarks are for Quitters"
I love it!
My boys are men now, ages 44, and 42,with families of their own. I ❤️ LOVE to cook!!!!! It’s just me, I enjoy cooking for others. I’m retired from medicine. I really enjoy your videos, keep them coming.
I made your 4 ingredient bread yesterday, 2 loaves. They turned out perfectly, just like yours. Thank you for sharing the great recipe. MY 3 guys especially thank you!
Note when I did the 100% whole wheat I had to us 2.25 cups of water. You have to make it extra wet (wetter in appearance than you think it should) because whole wheat takes longer to absorb water. I also used 1.5 tsp of yeast and no extra gluten. Turned out great!
Fool the eye use smaller plates and bowls. Works for kid’s too.
Butter freezes and thaws perfectly 👌🏻 for future reference so you don’t run out :)
My quickest favorite meal: Left over roasted chicken (chopped/sliced), warmed in a pan/pot, bag of steamable veggies of your choice (or left over veggies) can of Rotel diced tomatoes of your choice and we add olives (kalamata) . It really stretches and you can really play with it. Takes about half hour to come together. I make it frequently with what ever we have left over. I've substituted other protein as well.
That pizza buffet with the longing music hits hard now....
Chocolate chip cookies tip 💖
Make your dough ahead of time, scoop them onto your sheet, freeze them for like an hour, put the frozen balls in a freezer bag and leave in the freezer for about two days minimum and all the flavors meld together perfectly.
I quadruple my recipes and freeze cookie dough so I can pull out the perfect amount for dessert whether that's 1 or 24! 💖💖
Also I'm from Gonzales! What part of La is your family from?
I lovvvvvve when you make a meal for your neighbor. It just makes me happy somehow.
I'm only 5 minutes in and I have subscribed! Love your editing style, and I've never even heard of pork with peach/Worcestershire! It's going on next week's menu for sure!
Over two years of watching you. Finally made this last night. SO GOOD!!! And easy
I'm sorry people are shaming you into thinking you aren't serving your family large enough portions. I imagine that kind of judgement can make any mom feel bad. I think you are doing a fine job. Feeding a family of six is tough and you've come up with some pretty creative ides. Thanks for sharing.
When I heard “Louisiana” I instantly missed home 🥺 I live 6 hours away from my family in south Texas now♥️😭
Also I’m loving your channel 😍😍
Love your contagious humor and happiness! Thank you for sharing!
I'm a ridiculously picky person and don't like 90% of the ingredients you always use, and yet I can't stop watching these videos.
LOL!
I absolutely adored this video! Love the recipies but I really loves all the clips and humor and add-ins omg it was the BEST!!💜💜🤣🤣
Great video and recipes - looking forward to trying! I bet your friend was surprised and so thankful for the meal - all looked delicious!
U rock! I’m so glad I found ur channel!!! I’m a married mom of 3 adult kids and still learning how to meet my budget with food we all enjoy! Thanks so much!
Love love LOVE the crusty bread! I just made our 2nd loaf of the week! Thanks for sharing the recipe and all the great frugal meal ideas!
You are so funny! I really enjoyed this video.
And, for the record, you feed your family very well!! And enough!
gf your videos are addictive.. I'm using up all my data!
Inspiring I really appreciate all your ideas and tips.. thank you!
I can't wait to share them with my family 😘💞
Hearing you talk about your Texas and Louisiana sides AND wearing an Aggie jacket made me smile big time. I’m from Texas, husband’s from Louisiana and we met at A&M. We found your videos the other day and are hooked! A fun twist for your red beans and rice recipe... I did black eyed peas and rice the other night and after mixing them together it was like jambalaya (without the spice)
Thank you, CZcams, for recommending this channel.
Amazing how you can be so enthusiastic the entire video. Great positive energy! Thanks
Thank you so much for your videos! We just had a baby and our life is definitely frugal now!
I just recently found your channel, and I SO appreciate that your recipes are so simple and quick, and you use what you have! You don’t fuss over every single ingredient and just make it work. I love it! ❤️
I love your pantry challenge videos like this! Thanks for sharing!
Love it, thanks for the ideas! You're so fun 😄
Thanks for mentioning freezing the fresh herbs! I bought some for soup that I don’t typically buy, and I didn’t know I could freeze the rest, so seeing this was perfect timing.
That rice and beans dish looked delicious!! Thanks for sharing!
I just stumbled upon your channel and I have to say, you do an amazing job editing as well as showing exactly how to use those pantry staples. I have so many beans in my pantry that I bought with good intentions of using but for some reason, beans intimidate me. Thank you so much for showing simple, tasty ways to eat frugally at home. I absolutely smashed that subscribe button!
Yall are awesome your mom is sweet thanks for sharing have a blessed week🙏❤🤓
My family loves your bread! I had some old wheat flour I had ground up in my freezer. Made a loaf with it. I used 2 cups whole wheat and 1 cup white. It was definitely denser than the white, but absolutely delicious!
I also use a parchment sheet to let mine rest on, then I can just pick it all up and set it in my dutch oven. That way, I'm not touching the dough.
I've also never had red beans and rice, but want really to try it!
Thank you for your awesome videos!
You’re hilarious and your energy is infectious!!
You seem to have fun making these videos! I think mom always makes it better. I grew up making this special dinner roll recipe with my mom and couldn’t wait to make it for new husband, it flopped. I had made it all those years with my mom and I suddenly couldn’t get it to work.
I'm so glad I found this channel. I absolutely enjoy watching your sweet family.
I laughed so hard when you said you cant be a Louisianaian if you dont have Tabasco bc I was born, raised and still live in Louisiana and I hate Tabasco 🤣🤣🤣 but I do love my Louisiana hot sauce no other brand can compete lmbo
BOTH of the homemade breads 🍞 looked Sooo GOOOOD!!!!
I ABSOLUTELY love your channel and you are very funny. Thank you for making all of this super fun and easy
All looks wonderful. I'm going to try some of them. Thank you. Have a great day. 😁😁😁
Loved this vid! My husband makes the same bread he uses an old crock pot crock and its lid. He also does 50white/50wholr wheat and it's the best texture and flavor IMO. We have cold weather right now and beams are always so good to cost upto. Ham substitutes can be smoked turkey or bacon. Thanks for the yummy ideas and cute vid.
I love watching your videos! I recently purchased an instant pot and I’m obsessed! Love watching your instant pot recipes. You have inspired me to hopefully start my own CZcams channel 😊
Loving these budget meal videos!!!!!
Great recipes. I love that it’s yummy and not expensive.

I currently have some dough on my counter to make your crusty bread...my kids will think I'm amazing! Thank you!
I LOVE to see Chrisitine BOOM dinners!!! Thank you so much for sharing all of your fantastic meals. xo. Beans are life
I have made this bread dozens on times. Pro tip- sauté some garlic in butter and add it to the dough! Soooo good!
That's because people do not know what true serving sizes are.
Such a nice thing to do for your friend ! There should be more ppl like you !
I love using butter on the griddle for quesadillas! Everything looked delicious!

You can add all kinds of stuff to no-knead bread to have different flavors. Rosemary, powdered Parmesan, cheddar and green chilis, cranberries and walnuts, a bit of sugar and cinnamon..... the possibilities are endless.
You just crack me up!! Love your sense of humor! 😄
I like watching your content, some of your recipes look great and your food haul videos are also fun to watch.

Ooh! Going to make the red beans and rice today. Yum! Thanks for the recipe!
I love your videos like this! It inspires me to be creative and use what we have first.
I just found your channel and these are going to be super helpful! We are on that Dave Ramsey life at the moment and it's so helpful to have new ideas so we're not rotating the same meals every week. We're Idahoans as well 👋
So happy to have found your channel! We have 4 (almost 5) children! I love your humor! 💚
I just made the no knead bread today and its SOO GOOD! I don't have a dutch oven, so I used my roasting pan. I will be making this again. Thanks for the recipe.
An oldie that I had missed - glad it came up on my feed as eating from the Pantry, Freezer, Cupboards is definitely needed right now. Luckily they are filled so like you guys, I, have several choices.
* I often use mixed Fruit for a quick sauce on Chicken, Pork
Than you for all your great ideas
Love these type of videos!
Chorizo & beans tacos OMG THE BEST 😍
Flavor explosion! Thank you!
That was so sweet of your mom to take you out to a pizza bar! Its been forever like when I was a little kid and we would go as a family and honestly I don't think we even have one around anymore =(
I really enjoy watching your videos your so inspiring!!
love the movie snippet "got any cheese!?"😂
I am definitely making white bean soup, glazed pork chops and grapefruit marmalade within the next week. Lately all the videos I've been watching are for recipes my family would love with lots of ingredients I already have. It's excellent!
Great videos 😁 especially the one about the food bank... New to the channel...l love that spoon haha... You do an amazing job
Looks so yummy....I can almost taste it lol. At home we call this cupboard soup.... whatever is left in the fridge or cupboard, goes into the big pot of soup. Uses up all the bits and pieces...prevents waste. Love your videos..
