- After being introduced to Zwift while recovering from injury in 2014, Mark Cavendish (Cav) has since used Zwift to keep himself motivated and connected to the cycling community. With the goal to break the Tour de France stage wins record in 2023, Cav will continue to use Zwift as an intricate training tool to rack up as many green jerseys as possible.
For Cav, the challenge the Tour de France demands has been the driving factor in his cycling career. Illness, injury, win, or loss, the drive to achieve more at the world's toughest cycling race has guided the Manx Missile for nearly 17 years. Only when Mark retires will people realise how great this man is. Absolute inspiration to us all. 100% dedicated to his craft. Through all the ups and down of the sport he is still here winning at the top level. Lets get that win at The Tour next year. Makes me proud to be British and a cyclist.

I think that’s only half true, more people will realise for sure, more than now, but a great number acknowledge what a legend he is already!
But he won't retire. Not from cycling I'm sure. He is authentic
Starting cycling for triathlons back in 1985, had 2 friends killed on their bikes. My area here in Florida not save on the roads. few times a month will head to a bike trail . But discovered Zwift on Dec 22, 2023 , since then 89 rides and now have my TRON bike and have seen my cycling get so much stronger. i have not missed a day since Dec 22, 2023 , its 2/10/24 GREAT VIDEO

I raced on the Isle of Man just before Mark was born,on of the best weeks of racing in my career. Little did we know a great champion was about to be born and give all so much pleasure & entertainment. Cycling is my whole life just like it’s Mark’s,only now I’m 67 but still compete on Zwift in cat’s C&B. I have ridden with the pros on Zwift but I’m still waiting to ride with this very special sprinter. Just wish I was younger again,maybe get the orange Z with my name, we can all dream when riding such a great platform as Zwift. Loved this short insight to Cavs life & family….

Cavendish inspired me to start cycling. Zwifting is great for dads (and moms). Child in bed, baby monitor next to the bike and start training.

This! In summer I go on evening loops after the kids went to bed. In winter, it would be pitch black so I hop on Zwift. I even do it when I‘m alone with the kids 👍

Love this … his little boy with the cycling jersey … that is so cute. It can be tough if you share a passion with one kid and not the others tho. His comment about wanting to Zwift even when the weather outside is good is starting to ring true with me too

I am one of those followers on zwift! But as a level e rider I'll never message as I'm busting a gut just to be out the back! But what a lovely video. That family has to be an antidote to the pressure of his job in his tour team. I watch all the grand tours and hope he gets to tdf this year to fight for that next win

I started riding road bikes in the mid 1980s and have ridden indoors on a wind trainer, rollers, then a mag trainer. Absolutely hated them all and could only tolerate them for an hour at most! Started Zwifting just over 3 months ago and I’ve recently managed to ride a 2 hours and 17 minute route and will be riding even longer routes. Living in Kansas USA, where else can I ride category rated climbs? Still prefer outdoors when weather is good but Zwift is an absolute game changer for indoors or when wanting to do long climbs.

Having decades of experience riding all stationary trainers, rollers, ergometer testing bikes etc. none of them actually duplicate outdoor road cycling. They’re close, but not quite there. I’ve ridden a road bike on a treadmill and it was the closest simulation of outdoor riding, though it was a bit nerve-wracking trying to moderate treadmill speed and position fore/aft mainly. The issue with stationary trainers is that the intrinsic act of balancing on two wheels is removed, so the true workload is less. Rollers attempt to address this but there is too much “caster” on the front wheel and roller drum, the result is a partial simulation of riding on the road. So …… ride outside whenever possible to do safely.
I was already a fan but love to see the family man side of the GOAT!

I was lucky enough to get to ride a few group rides with Cav on zwift. One of the times was my first time leading our group. It sure made the conversation go easy with him there. He was very engaged in the chat, his great personality shined through. Zwift is lucky to have him as an ambassador.

With pro cycling awash in so much controversy over the past couple of decades, it’s truly heartwarming to see a good story about a pro cyclist and his family.
Wasn't so much interested in the Zwift thing, rather a glimpse into the life of an intriguing bike champion.
