    Oak Lawn is known for doing whatever they want and getting away with it.

    THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT IN THIS MATTER! I just want to reiterate that I’ve lived here for 28 years. Don’t you think that if the public works was doing what they are doing now, I would have stuck this house up for sale immediately! I have two children that I would never expose to toxic fumes, ever! And let me tell you they’d never sleep because the noise is 1,000 worse than it’s ever been! I’m not the only one complaining people! The other side of my block is too,along with other neighboring blocks and one lady wears hearing aids because she’s almost deaf, but yet the noise is driving her crazy with and without her hearing aid’s. THIS IS ALL RECENT! My complaints started via email to our mayor in February. I had complaints prior (last 9 month’s) but was afraid to speak up, I expected they’d make my life miserable and they have. They are bullying me!!! They are costing us, the taxpayers a lot of money in attorney’s fee’s, for what? Give me the value of my home and compensate me for 3 years of complete and utter torture, both physically and mentally!! I cannot help that our village manager resigned after the accident with the pedestrian and our police chief took over his spot without any knowledge of what was going on. All I know is it’s been three years! My neighbors are gone. It’s a sad and lonely hellish life here on my block. It once was beautiful. Now, it’s just nothing but extreme noise and extreme smells. Imagine not being able to sit on your deck, enjoy your pool, open your windows, barbecue and breathe without having to use an inhaler. All in a split second decision made by people who don’t give two shit’s about you or your children.

    If she sells no stress, her value is on what she perceives they can care less that the house was remodeled. That’s why her neighbors left already.

    Why would you put money into the house they are just going to tear down? And of course the property isn’t going to be worth much if it’s next to the public works yard. Take the money and run.

      I remodeled prior to the offer. The public works has been here forever but they never bothered me until recently with the air and noise pollution. We have a beautiful block with a dead end street. The value of that is essential in the busy side streets in Oak Lawn. That’s why we bought it 28 years ago. 😊

    I grew up in Oak Lawn in the 70s, public works was always there and noisy at times I’m sure, now it’s an issue because they won’t give you an inflated price for a house in a bad location,...why does a news channel pick up a story like this. Terrible crap

    • @wendypaulwalker
      @wendypaulwalker Před 3 lety

      Now it’s an issue because they are using toxic products and creating noise 24/7. Their hours were always 7-3. Now it’s quite different from when you lived here. I’ve been here 28 years. Yes, of course there is going to be noise and I respected that for 28 years BUT this is now very different! It’s continual!! I don’t inflate the price of my home. I have appraisals that validate them. Why not google a 3500 sq ft brick house in oak lawn top of the line everything and tell me how their last appraisal was in the upper $200,000 range. That little red house next to me got $180,000, it’s like 1,000 sq ft.

  • @TeslaBoy123
    @TeslaBoy123 Před 3 lety +2

    This is easy fix u can hire a professional licensed property appraisal and she can submit paper work and can proof her property value is low for what's village want pay If village agree with appraisal statement sold she can move to a better place without drama or noise obviously in a work yard is noise from heavy equipment every day

    • @wendypaulwalker
      @wendypaulwalker Před 3 lety +1

      I’ve had an appraisal and an in depth analysis both of which hold value with any bank. The original was$430,000. That was three years ago. The values in oak lawn have skyrocketed since then, like most other area’s. Instead of increasing my price, I kept it the same. But, maybe it’s time for a new appraisal! They have made it impossible to have peace in my own home.

    • @wendypaulwalker
      @wendypaulwalker Před 3 lety +1

      I did! So they ordered another appraisal. It came in at the upper $200,000 mark 😂
      3500 sq ft house all brick and completely upgraded. My value as of three years ago was $430,000. It was backed up. They’ve played this game for three year’s and because I’m not moving, they’ve made my life a nightmare! I can’t even open a window! I can’t sit outside! They’ve made it impossible!! They are BULLIES!

      Exactly! So give me the appraised value but they won’t! And they are making my life a living hell! Listen, I’ve been here 28 years. I raised my boy’s here we enjoyed our home, had a beautiful pool put in and spent many day’s and night’s in our yard. Not any more!! They have made me a prisoner in my own home. Come on! They burned toxins, confirmed by the fire dept and then burned them again the next day! If this had been happening for 28 years, don’t you think I would have moved? Look at this with an open mind!!
