Let's take a closer look at the stunning Instagram photos of NYC restaurants that are taking the social media world by storm. We've all been there, scrolling through our feeds, drooling over perfectly plated dishes and grand interiors, only to be left disappointed when the reality doesn't quite live up to the hype.
We'll be visiting some of the most popular restaurants in New York City and see for ourselves whether their social media image matches what we experience in person. We'll provide an honest review and comparison between "Instagram verse reality" so you can know exactly what to expect before making your reservations.

Ok that cake milk shake looked terrible. Not as in it didn’t look good to my greedy self 😂, but it was just way too much and too messy to try to enjoy. I’ve always wanted to try it, but never got around to stopping by and getting one. I would be so annoyed trying to figure out where to start and watching it melt and fall apart.
I’m cracking up at you guys trying to talk about the restaurant with the owner or whatever in the back. Lol I’m not a Christmas decoration person, but I feel like the place had too much going on, but they definitely needed the lights low and the Christmas lights being used to light it up. That’s more Christmas year round feel.
I’m only to the Italian restaurant part, but I had to stop, laugh and write after that Wendy Williams Clip 😂😂😂
Great video Sarah….and a great assessment of the food. I’m not a fan of most of those things, but others will be rushing to them. I’m surprised the cake in the first one wasn’t all over the place, imagine kids getting into that one 😂❤

foodie social media is interesting… i’m all for the recent boom but i’ve seen local content creators in my area post places that i found just meh/average. so i’ve been taking social media suggestions more lightly now

At Black Tap, if you ask them for a plate for the cake, they'll give you a plate. Also their burgers are actually pretty good.
Good to know about Rolf’s! Coming end of Nov/early Dec and it was on my list, but I didn’t realize the mandatory drink + prices seem over the top. Will avoid and go elsewhere 😊

I have a question about tipping. Is it must to tip when you take out something too in New York? If yes, what is the average percentage for take out tipping??
For takeout, short answer is no.
Nowadays they swing the iPad at you expecting you to tip but don't feel pressured like you have to

I love Lillie’s Victorian. To me, it’s more than just instagrammable gimmick. Their drinks are great and I’ve liked the food I’ve tried. It’s so magical at christmastime
Some good finds here. Ate at Rolf's 30 years ago and it was good. Ate there 10 years ago and it was "meh." Not surprised it's only "passable" now. Great ambience but a rip off for food/drink. Too much of a foodie to be a fan of "cutsie" food so will avoid unicorn ice cream and foods that have more than 3 flavors going on. Would love your take on the Fancy Food Show...coming to NYC in the next week or so...fyi!

Sometimes the issue is less about if it’s good and more about the crazy lines at some places. Not worth it most times.
The cake shake at Juniors is better! Disappointing about Rolf’s. Great reviews!

Blacktap in Vegas gave me the shake with a plate to disassemble cleanly. Leave it to NYC to make it ghetto.
If a place of interest is mentioned on CZcams I avoid it. Cause it’s gonna be too crowded.

I was disappointed by Surreal creamery a Ice cream shop that’s has two locations in New York. The ice cream was basic soft serve and the toppings were stale 🙄. I recommend milk and cream cereal bar for good ice cream😊

Great video, Sarah! You should actually make more of them because a lot of these Instagram locations are NOT worth it. By the way, I'm pretty sure you eat unhealthy sugary or fatty foods just to try them out for your videos - otherwise, it's just impossible as you are so skinny 😊

If you didn't have much good to say about the restaurant, then I think you could have voiced your opinions over the footage in post to ensure that the owner wouldn't overhear. Sure deep down we'd want the owner to know, but it's also very impolite!

I went to Ralph and the food was nasty 🤮.. it’s literally just a place for photos .. service was ok nothing incredible.. but the decorations are amazing
