    Looks like he put black marker on the edge. I guess we are supposed to take his word for it that it's sharp.

      Haha,unfortunately that isn't was an black sharpie marker,that's is a rust of the core steel (carbon steel),you can see the wavy black pattern is bring me information that the core carbon steel blade is cladded by stainless steel,the wavy pattern split out the that core and clad. Carbon steel is so easy to rust FYI.
