Korean drinking rules/etiquette (when drinking w/ someone considerably older)
-always pour/receive shots with 2 hands
-always keep your shot glass at a lower level than the older individual
-always turn away (in shame, like @davidso said 😂) from the older individual
*feel free to use a hand to cover your intake but not really necessary as most older individuals are lax about the whole thing and may even allow you to disregard it altogether
-never “one-shot” your shot (this aint no college party
*you usually aint tryna impress the individual with your shot-taking skills, rather you’re showing respect to willfully concede to an older individual’s request
-never finish your ‘shot-taking motion’ before the older individual has finished their motion
-never leave the older individual’s shot glass empty
*again, this aint a college party, dont be asking them every chance you get. Use common sense.
-never turn down a shot from the older individual
***if you need to drive or do something important soon thereafter, manage your time more wisely and make your circumstances known in the beginning as to avoid any awkwardness
Honestly, korean drinking etiquette has as much to do with common sense as respect and manners do; do your DD and act as if you were in a courtroom almost. The older individual is the judge and you just a pleb fulfilling their requests 😂😤

In some Asian cultures especially Japanese and Korean if you don't slurp your noodles, it is considered hella rude to the chef.
This is great just like all the other Send Foodz episodes, but I just wanted to take the time on this episode specifically to say thank you to Thrillist, David and Tim for putting the respect on vietnamese cuisines, which is in my opinion well-deserved. Even more thanks to David since I know from his vids that he knows more than just the typical well known dishes like banh mi and pho. Feeling blessed out here ❤
