Changing the oil on my 2022 Toro Timecutter today. Hopefully this video can help someone see that it’s possible to do your own simple maintenance work.
Excellent video. Thank you! I am not as strong and had to use a channel lock to loose the filter. I will need to order an oil filter wrench to tight the new filter. I cannot hand tight it like you did. Also I was told to prefill the filter, although like half was spilled out when I tried to screw it on.
Righty tighty lefty loosely.
Yes sir same engine on my CUB💯👍🏾 One of the most important things to do💪🏾
I love your positive attitude, keep up the good work.
Video helped a lot thx man
Glad it helped you out. 👍🏾
Great video! No nonsense and straight to it.
👍🏾 hope it helped you. Thanks for the comment.
Thanks for the video. When draining your oil, make sure to leave your oil filler cap is open so that the oil will drain a lot faster.
Thanks for the tip! 👍🏾 I’ll definitely remember that for next time.
Good video! A couple of things ... you will want to lift the opposing side Put something under the wheel) to drain all the oil and also, I saw you struggle a bit, always counter clockwise to loosen. Remember the old adage ... lefty loosey, righty tighty. The struggle is indeed real. LOL
Thanks for the comment. I’ll definitely try putting something under the wheel. 👍🏾
Thanks for the tips
Thanks this really helps me out.
Glad to hear it!
Id save a lot of money if I knew what you knew. I take my equipment to the neighborhood shop every Friday. It adds up but it needs to be done.
I’m probably taking it to the dealer this year for service 😂
I absolutely love my Timecutter. Amazing cut, amazing quality, a bit slow on ground speed though. But..... I just did first oil change a few days ago. And this is the worst machine I have seen for changing oil. I've been a power plant mechanic for 15 years and an annhydrous ammonia tech for 4 years and a custom machinist for a textile plant for 3 years.
So I'm gonna mod the heck out of this Timecutter to cut the frustration of changing oil.
Great machine in my opinion. I agree that it’s a bit on the slow side for what I use it for but I’m so use to it now I don’t really even think about it. Lol
What modifications are you thinking about making?
For mine I'm going to clearance the engine deck to allow oil to drain down. And fabricate some sort of chute to prevent the oil from running all over the mechanics under the engine deck.
Next I'll work on modifying or design a new oil fill tube so a wrench or two hands can get a hold of the oil filter.
Overall I'm hoping to find a solution with minimal effort that allows all Timecutter owners an easier oil change.
Homeowners probably only need an oil change once a summer so I'd like to create a system that is cost effective. If it's too much effort or too costly then there is no point to modifying.
It be nice if toro gave another in or two..on the drain hose..I have the same unit..2022 same engine..42 in ..I cut my yard in the slowist mode ..I get a better cut..
I agree that that drain hose could be a bit longer. I’ve enjoyed the machine and it hasn’t given me any problems. Thanks for watching!
I have the exact model. The manual says slowest mode is not recommended for long term use. I used the rabbit mode and just go over twice on long grass.
