A little correction: the Cell jrs explode like that because of censorship. In the manga Gohan slaughters them with brains and arms and legs flying around.
In a way, the exploding makes more sense, as they really should be able to just regenerate if it's just body parts being sent flying everywhere.
Frisktaker actually in the dragon ball super manga, 17 found and tamed call jars that regenerated from the ones killed by Gohan. They now help 17 get rid of any intruder that isn't a park ranger.

Everytime I rewatch Broly abridged, I hate that they didn't do an "Epic Foreshadowing" call back to Vegetta and Nappa.

The silence during Gohan's Kamehameha is how the original Japanese version went, the Japanese track really knew when to just have no music
Murgo true but they added the echo of gohan's voice and amplified to a greater heights of quality. Something that is tfs exclusive and sub&dub couldn't achieve. Kudos to tfs for real!
Sam Lee it’s amazing what you can accomplish when you’re not an anime production studio that has to churn out polished episodes on a weekly basis. TFS regularly achieves new heights with their renditions and special interpretations, but they have way more time to do it. The only time constraints they have are fans constantly shouting “NEW EPISODE WHEN”

Yeah, that's the thing American dubs and movies don't get when adapting the work of/ collaborating with Japanese directors, the principle of Mu.
Masako’s style of Voice acting seemed to always be silly in most of DBZA, but here in these parts he gets to shine and show how good of an actor he truly is. Those screams of agony as Gohan were spectacular. AMAZING.

It's also a nice nod to Masako _Nozawa_ performing as Goku and Gohan with her rather high pitched voices. It makes for moments like these so much better in my opinion.

Like I didn't expect his version of Goku to get me so emotional (And to be fair, part of that is due to the music they use which I cannot find the track of for the life of me), but he did. Wow. He's incredibly good as both of them (And holy crap for being legitimately terrifying as Gohan here, FUCK).

@@bipstymcbipste5641 They do, as with anything of this sort. But I don't believe for a second they had this all planned from it's early days. A happy coincidence from their characterization to when it segued into a serious effort sure.
@@imotekh6110 They definetly didn't. I can't remember which one of the TFS crew said it, but they stated that in the early days of DBZA they were just doing an abridged. The characters were the same, but certain personality traits were inflated or changed for the sake of humor. However, when SAO Abridged by SomethingWittyEntertainment came out, TFS saw how they (SWE) genuinely changed the characters but kept the plot the same, and realized they could do the same. It was something of an inspiration to them, and I think you can see how apparent that shift was at the beginning of the Cell Saga. TFS effectively started to write their own version of Dragon Ball from that point onwards.

In the manga Gohan exploding the Cell Jrs are much more bloody, you can see their insides being punched out of them, in the show they reasonably tunned it down.

Goku's scene literally brought me to tears, then had me rolling around on the floor in laughter 5 seconds later. It's glorious. Happy to see Eric cry a little though, makes me feel like less of a wimp.

I love these reaction with them because you see two different perspective on the show. Eric and Shane are fans of DBZ and know what's about to happen but you can tell it still affected them the same way if they were watching it for the first time. Calvin and Aaron are newbie watching DBZ & DBZA for the first time with no knowledge about it and gets to enjoy it all at once. I'm an old fan of DBZ like Eric and Shane and Goku's sacrifice still gets me teary eyes like Eric especially after my dad death who love DBZ like me.

My favorite part was very understated: When Goku goes to sacrifice himself, Vegeta turns and says "Wait-!" Not in an angry tone or anything, but with concern. A very nice character moment for him in what is a mostly Gohan and Goku story point.
the difference is that gohan is half human child, he has limited controll over his emotions and more importantly he understands those emotions because he grew up with them.
vegeta on the other hand doesn't even come close to udnerstanding something like that, he is a pure saiyan to begin with, meaning that emotions born from attachments to others are a completely new thing to him, he is an adult who is mostly in controll of his emotions and most importantly, the emotional attachment he has to trunks runs not nearly as deep as the one gohan has to pretty much anything that lives, loosing trunks is to vegeta not much worse than seeing your cat get run over.

On the "will they continue?" question, KaiserNeko (one of the writers and lead editor of the show) has said on Twitter that they will reveal the future of DBZA once part 3 is out. So by the end of this month we'll know. Assuming they reveal what's happening immediately after part 3 is out...

I think they will. Remember Super Android 13 Abridged, when they had the scene with High School Gohan? I remember someone from TFS saying they carefully deliberated and decided on that kind of voice for late-teens Gohan. Seems to me they were planning for Buu saga, no?

Well in DBZA, they had amplified & echoed Gohan's voice, eh m whereas in the Japanese dub, they just simply didn't have any music.
Since you brought it up in the manga when he kills the cell juniors its one of the most brutal moments o the series he splatters guts and organs everywhere , this channel has the best reactions for dbz you can feel everyones love for it especially Eric and Shane :D

The silent kamehameha was in the was in the japanese version I think, idk for sure but in fighterz gohan's lvl 1 is the silent kamehameha so it has to be a thing that happened in the show

Munzur Baba you do realize that is exactly what happen during the revival of Frieza , a quite life in a universe filled with aliens and monsters that can wipe out the planet in any time is just a is not a possibility that is Gohan whole joke is that he could stop any threat that comes up but he end up getting his ass handle to him and his family end up in danger because of his has no desire to fight .
The real joke is that this was SUPPOSED to setup Gohan as the new Goku for Dragonball, but thanks to higher ups, who wanted Goku back because he sells, Toriyama had to make sure Goku could remain on top, and as part of that nerfed Gohan by having him NOT remain as the top fighter in Goku's place. This was meant to be a passing of hte torch from Goku to Gohan, but execs fucked it up.
...Super is canon, at least it's been promoted as such since the beginning.
@Chepe Chepe oh course, that's why the manga is drawn and written by toyataro! Akira toriyama sent basic guidelines for what was going to happen to both the studio, and toyataro, there is no "extra" cannon from the manga, and there is no definitive source of supers story.

It's hard to imagine that its been a LONG time since these guys did these voices too. And man, they just pick it all back up without missing a beat. Usually with that kind of gap, VA tend to lose particular voices and it can take a bit getting them back or in some cases the voices never sound the same at all. But TFS just do it like they weren't gone for a year.

19:50 From what I've heard on a few videos - the reason Perfect Cell got back his Perfect form without having android 18 inside him is because of a massive Zenkai Boost (he has saiyan biology in him) he got from near death.

It was the English dub that gave the explanation of cell memories in the Japanese dub it was just a zenkai boost after he regenerates from his last surviving cell

fun fact: the guy who shouts "yeah, fuck this city!" is actually Grant, who, while not a voice actor in the DBZA series, is part of the TFS crew and does alot of TFS plays in other games, and just happened to be around the office for that and threw his voice in as a random background guy. He is one part of the multi named pokemon trainers, Lakigr and Tantor, as well as one of the voices in Maquibi's head and part of Larenti...basically he's the pokemon guru.

Funniest thing is when Gohan was explaining to Goku what he should do, every example was what Goku did instead of just killing the person he was fighting. Vegeta he let him go do her can be a better fight later, Freeza he let power up to 100% to try and humble him and now the senzu bean with cell lol
