This video helped me to fix Toshiba Satellitle C660 black screen problem.
Before I found your video I had a rough idea the problem was related somehow to the screen cable but i didn't know what was had happened to it ..
then tried to put the flash light in front of the screen (knew that from other video) and I did see that the screen is actually working but very dim ..
Then I searched and searched to how solve the problem and then I found this video and it was enough to do the trick :)

Many thanks. I changed the screen cable and had good connections or so I thought, had dull backlight on screen..re- plugged in with success, although I it only worked by unplugging and replacing the connection to the MB.

I've never had a led back lit one fail, but the old ccfl ones can fail from a dead tube/inverter or missing 19v supply.

i have been working in the computer industry for a long time and i have learned that the Toshiba laptops are not good to use as they have many issues, not screen related btw, other failures.
Really? Hp and Dell laptops have much worse problems especially with graphics issues.

Sorin. How do you fix laptops with no electronic faults? A laptop that does nothing when a charger is plugged in. No lights....nothing. Then you find that the owner formatted the HD and removed the bios battery to reset it? Or do you only do the electronic part?
there is no reason far a laptop to not power on with lights. so yours probably have a electronic fault

tip: you can put a transparent tape or kapton tape, on the lcd connector and cable to keep them tight forever.

Have a question for you! I have Toshiba a500 1gl I series model. One day was working fine till one day I power on I hear pop where screen is and smell I look and saw inverter burnt so I order new inverter and went to plug in and now no view image or light powers on then after 2 to 3 mins fan speeds up then shut off maybe a fuse but where ?

I have followed your steps in this video and tested the screen which worked few second then stopped again when I fixed the screws , no my screen is black again also the green light is on in the laptop, do you know the reason for that , thanks
Hi Sorin, I replaced a broken display on my toshiba, when connecting the new one it worked but then the screen got really dim, I barely can see the screen, I though it was the lcd cable and bought another one, but still the same problem, a curious thing is that when connected to the energies setting the bright down increase a little bit the brightness and setting it up it decreases the brightness, crazy uh? What do you think could be... thanks in advance
I have a Toshiba satellite b5160 that the screen completely went black the keyboard lights won’t come on or anything it worked fine yesterday until I left it on and it went to sleep and I turned it back on and it said the bios failed so it rewrote the blocks and every thing turned off and when I turned it back on the screen stayed black and won’t come back on I don’t know what happens to it only had it a month and it’s quit already 😞

I have toshiba sattelite p50t- c my nvidia graphic card cant see it anymonre long time but it was work on intel 5500 i was on my laptop 1 day and is same. Can be this or is motherboard i can say that numlock is on i can turned off and caps look and numlock ia work i can on and off them but 0 light i cant understand

I am having the same problem. I have followed the steps in your video, but still no Backlight.
In my case, I know the Backlight works as it randomly comes back (on average once or twice a month)
I will try again and try find the voltage the Backlight sees.. anyone else have this specific problem??
