Tommy’s a legend. He is honestly someone I owe a lot to. He made Queensland selection panel select Alfie. Alfie is my childhood hero, and made me so happy so often and none of that happens without Tommy. 1 the sheer respect Tommy had that a blue could force a selection for Queensland, and the sheer integrity of the man that he gave us a legend not a nufty. Tommy will always be the backline version of Gordon Tallis.

My Great Uncle George Stone ran Balmain boys club from the 60s and helped Tigers survive to today and was President of Tigers from the late 80s until the early to mid 90s he and Tommy both passed this week and they were very good mates so boys have a couple for me up there,VALE Tommy Raudonikis and George Stone,Rest in peace Fellahs 🍻🙏🌹

I’ve heard stories from back in the day from people who happened to attend a party where Jeff Toovey was also in attendance. Apparently he was as mad as a cut snake. I mean, just look at his eyes in this video. And this is said with huge amounts of respect for JT, a great footy player and an absolute warrior.

What a legend
When I was 16, I moved to open, adult cricket. My captain/coach was an old bloke, former 1st grader who moved down to 4th grade to "help" some new young kids. My first game, I was nervous, a little scared, this was mens cricket, not kids stuff. The other opening bowler was nick named "Rocket", and he just got smashed for 12 off his over. My first 2 balls, I just put them there, tried to hit a spot, tried not to get smashed by the Men.
The Captain walked over, I can't write what he said, I'd get banned. It boiled down to, why are you here, who are they, get in the contest, and bowl some short stuff, basically, test out the strength of their helmet and character.
This man, and this season with him, had a profound effect on my life. He was my personal "Tommy".
This was in no way "toxic". This was respectful! It is respectful to go hard at your opponent, give them everything you have, because you respect they can do the same. You fight with everything you have, but when it's over, you shake their hand, and respect they challenged you, and made you do the best you can.
That was my coaches and Tommy's idea. I respect you, but I'm not afraid of you. I'm here, and you will feel me. I was picked to do this, because I can, because I earned it!
That is, sadly, lost nowadays. Tommy EARNED respect, and, I can't give him enough.
