Other than the houses, the village will also include medical and psychological care areas, common area with laundry facilities, kitchen, library, food pantry, classroom; and a community garden.
The non-profit raised $3 million for the project in donations and pledges.
It is estimated that once fully operational, more than $1.6 million a year in tax-payers’ money will be saved for services such as shelters, medical care and police custody.
Thank you for that information, I need do more of what you suggested and give more information about these places. I need a female partner to travel with me and help do a lot of stuff. I think it would greatly improve my work,,,,,, but I do not have any takers that fit well enough to even give it a shot. Oh Well, Such is Life as they say. Thank you again for all of your comments, support and watching the videos.
@@rcmcrmc My pleasure, not trying to tell you what to do, just suggestions 🙂
@@mr.p9882 I appreciate your input. I know I need to get better with my stuff. I like getting the video but hate the downloading, editing and uploading to CZcams
That's awesome
I can't wait until they finish. I live in Brunswick and the homeless can really use it. It's more tiny homes further south.
Very nice
Thank you for commenting and for watching the videos.
By mercy not might❤❤❤❤🙏🙏
It is a wonderful project, most of the homeless will appreciate a roof over their head regardless of the size. Beats living outside .♥️
Yes, it should work out well. Thank you for commenting and for watching the videos
That is so true. I have a daughter and both of us wouldn't fit there.
So I'm guessing the living room area will have to function as the bedroom too. This is a good idea though for homeless people.
This is perfect for homeless people proven to be sober and receiving mental health care if needed. Could also be a motivation for many people with addictions and untreated mental illness to get well. That "light" or "tiny home community" at the end of the tunnel is what many people need to get better
This could be exactly what a lot of people need. Thank you for making your comment and for watching the videos
It could be a good base camp for covering Florida and Georgia as well as alabama
I do not think there is parking and just too close for me.
You didn't mention where anyone would sleep in one of these . . . Also, I think I would be careful about walking into any unfinished buildings in Brunswick Georgia. Seems to me there was a recent Brunswick incident and murder trial there about someone who was hunted down and killed just for looking into a home under construction.
Thanks for the warning, that is just insane, I guess the front room is the Living/dining/ and bed room
@@rcmcrmcpretty much. That's why it's called a tiny home. Basic needs and living for single person or elder couple.
@@markeyosef1579 thank you for your comment and for watching the videos
i guess sleeping in the living room on a couch is better than sleeping on the street. not my ideal design, but better than nothing i guess.
Yes I agree, Thank you for your comment and for watching the videos
They really need this in Atlanta badly
Yes, it is needed in a lot of places. Thank you for commenting and for watching the videos
Great concept. Only thing is I noticed that the gentleman filming the video did a similar thing Ahmaud Arbery did by going into a house under construction. Glad the video ended nicely.
One major difference likely led to a better outcome here. Well, possibly going during the daytime with construction workers about also made ‘snap judgments’ less likely.
Many that aren't homeless but not cash rich would love these also. It is not easy to get approval for tiny homes, but the city evidently said ok.
It is a problem that is not going away by itself, I am seeing this al around in my travels. Tiny homes would help.
This is what they need to build in Nashville to help with homeless housing
Yes I think this could be a big help with the homeless problem. In my travels I am seeing more and more little tents scattered out along the highways, in the woods and all around cities. Athens Ga has a lot of homeless scattered all around Athens/Clark County.
Nice. Affordable housing for someone who doesn't have the means to afford some expensive apartment..
Yes, this should work out well, I hope. Thank you for commenting and for watching the videos
Great Ideal. But without monthly inspections to maintain upkeep, it will eventually become a low income slum area. Monthly Inspections of every unit should be mandatory.
I'd say inspect the upkeep of outside yard every month. Going inside everybody's home once a month will be invading people's privacy. Once a year like what the state does for apartments will be good enough.
Where is the bedroom, would not drink the water here
That 1 room is it
Living / dining/ kitchen / bathroom....where is the BEDROOM?
It has to be a living room dining room bedroom combination
Lady this not a family house it's a roof over their heads stop it with the layout crap
They are nice but I don't think it's meant to be permanent for the residents. It's kind of like mini college dorms, studios; where college students are just passing through to earn their degrees but need somewhere to stay until they graduate. I'm sure there will be programs to help the homeless get their GED, job training, skilled training, medical, etc to help them get on their feet and earn a decent living for themselves. So, more homeless people can have access to housing and go through the same process. It's not meant to be too comfortable for a reason.
No mini permanent homes!
Simple basic needs of a human
Senior citizens or disabled are NOT going to go through ‘job training’. They simply need a safe place with a roof over their heads where police (and so-called ‘citizens’ behaving criminally) cannot routinely harass them and steal and dispose of their meager belongings simply because they have nowhere to live and are just trying to survive in a tent until help is available.
@@madeleinerose7090 I apologize. I'm a disabled vet myself, so I can completely understand that. I was thinking otherwise and left them out unintentionally but yes, it would be great for them as well until more help comes available.❤️
The city of Brunswick in Georgia has joined more cities across the United States that are opting to accommodate their homeless population in tiny houses.
A tiny home village that will house 60 houses is under construction, with an early 2022 anticipated partial opening date.
The project is being built by Hand in Hand of Glynn, an organization seeking to end homelessness in the city. Linda Heagy, treasurer for the charity revealed that the first 20 homes will be ready to be occupied in January 2022. The rest of the houses should be completed in subsequent months.
MOST likely it is a homeless development for free housing...you could qualify since you are houseless,,,
I don't think I could live in a such tiny home like this. I feel that where the comode is its too cramped up in between the walls.
Yes, It would not be easy. Thank you for commenting and for watching the videos
Nobody asking you to live there are they?
Not fond of this layout. They should of put a back bedroom instead of the kitchen. Weird layout 🤪
It's not a mansion lady it's just a roof over their heads get real geez
