- Expectations-it is supposed to challenge us to reach for higher goals, but what if the bar gets too low or never rises? Privilege-something only a few possess but most misuse. What were to happen if the youth rose above low expectations and used their privilege to help those in need? Together, they could accomplish amazing things. Jean Lauron is a 16-year-old junior who attends Wuhan Yangtze International School. Filipino-born, she has lived in China for over 13 years in an international community- a typical TCK. Having experienced a more privileged lifestyle compared to the one she may have received if she had stayed in the Philippines, it significantly influences her worldview and values and motivates her into leading various service projects within her local and global community. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
